Jud Simons
Judikje "Jud" Simons (20 August 1904 – 20 March 1943) was a Dutch gymnast who competed in the 1928 Summer Olympics. In 1928 she won the gold medal as member of the Dutch gymnastics team. The team was inducted into the International Jewish Sports Hall of Fame in 1997. She was born in The Hague and was murdered in Sobibor extermination camp together with her husband Bernard, their five-year-old daughter Sonja and their three-year-old son Leon. Jud is a ghost town in extreme western Haskell County, Texas, United States. It lies on FM 617, west of Rochester. Jud Smith
Grant Judson Smith (January 13, 1869 – December 7, 1947) was a professional baseball player. He played all or part of four seasons in Major League Baseball for the Cincinnati Reds (1893), St. Louis Browns (1893), Pittsburgh Pirates (1896 and 1901) and Washington Senators (1898), primarily as a third baseman. Smith, who was born in Green Oak, Michigan, was a member of the Pirates team that won the 1901 National League pennant. In 4 seasons he played in 103 games and had 346 at bats, 48 runs, 97 hits, 11 doubles, 6 triples, 4 home runs, 37 RBI, 15 stolen bases, 37 walks, .280 batting average, .363 on-base percentage, .382 slugging percentage and 132 total bases. Jud Yalkut (;1938–2013) was an experimental film and video maker and intermedia artist. Personal life Jud Yalkut was born in New York City in 1938. In 1973, he moved to Dayton, Ohio, where he lived until his death at the age of 75 in Cincinnati, Ohio on July 23, 2013. He was married to Peg Rice. Career Yalkut attended McGill University, Montreal, where he studied poetry, before returning to his place of birth, New York, to take up film-making. Ernest Judson Wilson (February 28, 1894 – June 24, 1963), nicknamed "Boojum", was an American third baseman, first baseman, and manager in Negro league baseball. He played for the Baltimore Black Sox, the Homestead Grays, and the Philadelphia Stars between 1922 and 1945. Wilson was known for possessing a unique physique, a quick temper, and outstanding hitting skills. One of the Negro leagues' most powerful hitters, his career batting average of .351 ranks him among the top five players.
