Jawa 250/353
Jawa 250 Type 353 was a standard motorcycle designed and manufactured by Jawa Motorcycles in Czechoslovakia starting from 1954 till 1962. This motorcycle succeeded Jawa Perak 250 in the year 1954 and later Jawa 250 Type 559 succeeded Jawa 250 Type 353 in the year 1962. The motorcycle was also manufactured in India by Ideal Jawa under license of Jawa Motorcycles from 1962 to 1973. Initially Ideal Jawa imported these motorcycles as CKD units and assembled in Mysore and sold them as the construction of the factory was not complete. Some variants of the same motorcycle were manufactured in Turkey and China. These motorcycles were famous for their symmetrical design language, ease of maintenance and reliability. This was the first Jawa motorcycle to have rear suspension springs, hence these were also called as "Kývačka 250" which translates to Spring 250 in English. Jawa 250 type 559 (known popularly as Panelka) was a standard motorcycle made by Jawa Motors from 1962 to 1974. It was preceded by the Jawa 250/353, and its successor was the Jawa 250/592. This was the first 250 cc model to be called Panelka. The Panelka series had the headlamp top nacelle stretched to the end of the handlebar with an oval speedometer instead of a circular speedometer on the headlamp top nacelle. For better security, the FAB switch box was used, whereas in the previous models a PAL switch box with nail type keys were being used. Jawa 250/592
Jawa 250 type 592 is a motorcycle popularly called Panelka and was developed by Jawa. It was manufactured from 1969 to 1974. The predecessor to this bike was Jawa 250/559 Panelka. Model 592 basically had only design innovations. Panelka series of motorcycles from Jawa had the headlamp top nacelle stretched to the end of the handle bar with an oval speedometer instead of a circular speedometer on the headlamp top nacelle. Changes The most noticeable changes were in the design of the (a) headlight top nacelle which now housed a bigger and wider speedometer, (b) tank, which had flat sides with Jawa monograms when compared to the previous model which had a curved oval sided tank with "JAWA" pressed on it. It also had a bigger tail lamp(developed for unified series), turn indicators with right thumb control, the bike was also equipped with a more powerful dynamo.
