Kuldīga
Kuldīga () () is a town in the Courland region of Latvia, in the western part of the country. It is the center of Kuldīga Municipality with a population of approximately 13,500. Bruno Oscar Schmidt (born 6 October 1986) is a Brazilian beach volleyball player . Bruno is the nephew of the former Brazilian basketball player Oscar Schmidt and of the TV news announcer Tadeu Schmidt. In 2010, he was named the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour Most Improved Player. He was also named the Best Defensive Player in 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016. Schmidt won the gold medal at the 2015 World Championships with his teammate Alison Cerutti in the Netherlands. He won the gold medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics with Alison Cerutti. Emanuel Fernando Sheffer Rego (born 15 April 1973) is a Brazilian male former beach volleyball player who competed in five consecutive Summer Olympics, starting in 1996. Rego partnered with José Loiola at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, though they did not medal. He won the gold medal in the men's beach team competition at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, partnering with Ricardo Santos. He won the bronze medal at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing and the silver medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. In 2016, Rego was inducted into the International Volleyball Hall of Fame. Anders Berntsen Mol (born 2 July 1997) is a Norwegian beach volleyball player. He won the gold medal at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo. Beach career Mol learned to play beach volleyball as a teenager. His parents introduced him to the sport. Together with Martin Olimstad he competed at the U18 European Championships in Molodetscho. Together with his cousin Mathias Berntsen, Mol competed in multiple national and international tournaments between 2014 and 2017. Paolo Nicolai (born 6 August 1988) is an Italian beach volleyball player. Biography Nicolai was born in Ortona, province of Chieti. In 2007 and 2008, he won the FIVB Youth Beach Volleyball World Championships (with Francesco Giontella). From 2009 he played with different partners (Matteo Varnier and Matteo Martino), becoming an Italian champion once, until in 2011 the Italian federation had him partnered with Daniele Lupo. Philip Peter Dalhausser (born January 26, 1980) is an American former professional beach volleyball player, who played as a blocker. He and his former playing partner, Todd Rogers, were the 2007 AVP Tour and FIVB world champions. Dalhausser and Rogers dominated both the domestic US tour and now the FIVB international tour, winning #1 team honors on both tours in 2010. Dalhausser and Rogers were Olympic gold medalists at the Beijing 2008 Summer Olympics. In 2023, Dalhausser was inducted into the International Volleyball Hall of Fame.
