Jürgen Bogs
Jürgen Bogs (born 19 January 1947) is a German football coach who led BFC Dynamo to ten consecutive DDR-Oberliga titles from 1979 to 1988. Bogs was a youth coach at BFC Dynamo before becoming the coach of the first team in 1977. The ten consecutive league titles won by BFC Dynamo under Bogs is an achievement that has never been matched by any other coach in European club football. Early life and education Jürgen Bogs was born in 1947 in the village of Biesendahlshof in the district of Uckermark in Brandenburg in Allied-occupied Germany. He is the oldest of ten siblings. Bogs first trained as a chemical technician. He played football as a defender for BSG Aufbau Schwedt in the third tier Berzirksliga from 1960 to 1970. Biesendahlshof
Casekow is a Municipalities of Germany, municipality in the Uckermark district, in Germany. Geography The western border of the municipal area is formed by the river Randow, in the north the area of the small town of Penkun in Western Pomerania borders on Casekow. From the west the terrain rises from the Randowbruch over a forested terminal moraine (Blumberger Wald) by about 40 meters. Numerous small lakes and ponds lie in the depressions of the hilly area. Martin Skaba
Martin Skaba (born 28 July 1935) is a German former footballer. Skaba came to SC Dynamo Berlin as a 19-year old in 1956. He made his first match for the first team of SC Dynamo Berlin in the 1956 DDR-Oberliga. Skaba won the FDGB-Pokal with SC Dynamo Berlin in 1959. He ended his playing career in 1968. Skaba played in 255 league matches for SC Dynamo Berlin and BFC Dynamo. He also played in eight matches for the East Germany national football team from 1958 to 1963. Skaba continued as a trainer in BFC Dynamo after ending his playing career. He coached the reserve team of BFC Dynamo in the second tier DDR-Liga from 1971 to 1974. BFC Dynamo II under Skaba won the 1971-72 DDR-Liga Staffel B. Skaba then served as the first assistant coach of Jürgen Bogs in the DDR-Oberliga. 1978–79 DDR-Oberliga
The 1978–79 DDR-Oberliga was the 30th season of the DDR-Oberliga, the first tier of league football in East Germany. The league was contested by fourteen teams. BFC Dynamo won the championship, the club's first of ten consecutive East German championships. Joachim Streich of 1. FC Magdeburg was the league's top scorer of he lague with 23 goals. Streich also took out the seasons East German Footballer of the year award. BFC Dynamo broke four records for the DDR-Oberliga during the season. The team set a new record for the number of consecutive matches won at the start of a season, by winning its first ten matches. 1977–78 FDGB-Pokal
The 1977–78 season saw the 27th competition for the FDGB-Pokal of East Germany. After a qualifying round with four teams from the second-tier DDR-Liga the first round proper was played with 55 teams from the DDR-Liga, the two teams that had been relegated from the DDR-Oberliga in 1976–77 and the 18 Bezirkspokal winners of 1977. From the round of last 16 onwards fixtures were decided over two legs. If the fixture could not be decided in regular time, extra time and penalty shoot-out were used. After an intermediate round which saw all Bezirkspokal winners eliminated, with the exception of Motor Warnowwerft, the 2nd round proper saw the Oberliga teams entering the competition. Five Oberliga teams were eliminated in the 2nd round: Hallescher FC Chemie, 1. FC Union Berlin, Chemie Böhlen, Sachsenring Zwickau and Wismut Aue. The 1977–78 DDR-Oberliga was the 29th season of the DDR-Oberliga, the first tier of league football in East Germany. The league was contested by fourteen teams. Dynamo Dresden won the championship, the club's sixth of eight East German championships, thereby equalling FC Vorwärts Berlin's record. Klaus Havenstein of BSG Chemie Böhlen was the league's top scorer with 15 goals, while Jürgen Croy of BSG Sachsenring Zwickau won the seasons East German Footballer of the year award for a record third time. On the strength of the 1977–78 title Dresden qualified for the 1978–79 European Cup where the club was knocked out by FK Austria Wien in the quarter-finals. Second-placed club 1. HFC Chemie
Hallescher FC, sometimes still called by its former popular name Chemie Halle, is a German association football club based in Halle an der Saale, Saxony-Anhalt. The club currently plays in the 3. Liga, the third highest level in the German football league system. For many years, Halle had been in East Germany's highest league, the DDR-Oberliga, up-until the German reunification. However, like many other teams from the former East, it then suffered the effects of economic and demographic decline in the region in the 1990s and fell down to amateur leagues.
