József Vura
József Vura (born 6 February 1955 in Paks) is a former Hungarian international handball player and handball coach, who was most recently in charge by HK IUVENTA Michalovce. During his playing career, Vura had spells by Dunaújváros, Szondi SE and Rába ETO and he also won 19 caps for the Hungarian national team. As a head coach he managed Alcoa FKC, Váci NKSE and Győri ETO KC. Vura had his most successful period by Győr, with them he finished on a podium place five times and also reached the finals of the EHF Cup two times, but he lost the decisive match-ups on both occasions. In May 2011 Vura signed a three-year contract with Women's Handball International League club HK IUVENTA Michalovce. In January 2012, however, following the team failed to meet the expectations of the club board, HK IUVENTA canceled Vura's contract and he was replaced by Ján Packa. Paks
Paks is a small town in Tolna county, in the south of Hungary, on the right bank of the Danube River, 100 km south of Budapest. Paks as a former agricultural settlement is now the home of the only Hungarian nuclear power plant, which provides about 40% of the country's electricity consumption. History The settlement was already inhabited in ancient times. It has played a role in the Ottoman Empire times and during Rákóczi's War of Independence. In the Budapest offensive in the final stages of the Second World War, Soviet troops occupied the town at great cost, followed by four decades of communist rule. Nemzeti Bajnokság I (Women's Handball)
The Nemzeti Bajnokság (, "National Championship"), also known as NB I, is the top level of the Hungarian football league system. The league is officially named OTP Bank Liga after its title sponsor OTP Bank. UEFA currently ranks the league 28th in Europe. Twelve teams compete in the league, playing each other three times, once at home, once away, and the third match is played at the stadium that the last match was not played at. At the end of the season, the top team enters the qualification for the UEFA Champions League, while the runner-up and the third place, together with the winner of the Magyar Kupa enter the UEFA Europa Conference League qualification rounds. Women's EHF Cup
The Women's EHF European League is an annual competition for women's handball clubs of Europe. It is organized by the European Handball Federation, EHF. It is currently the second-tier competition of European club handball, ranking only below the Women's EHF Champions League, EHF Champions League. Ján Packa (born May 22, 1952 in Vlčany) is a former Czechoslovak/ Slovak handball player who competed in the 1976 Summer Olympics. In 1976 he was part of the Czechoslovak team which finished seventh in the Olympic tournament. He played all five matches as goalkeeper. Team Handball
Handball (also known as team handball, European handball or Olympic handball) is a team sport in which two teams of seven players each (six outcourt players and a goalkeeper) pass a ball using their hands with the aim of throwing it into the goal of the other team. A standard match consists of two periods of 30 minutes, and the team that scores more goals wins. Modern handball is played on a court of , with a goal in the middle of each end. Váci NKSE are a Hungarian women's handball club from Vác, that play in the Nemzeti Bajnokság I. Founded in 1949, the team have won promotion to the top-level championship first in 1998. Since then, they have been improved year by year and achieved their best result in 2010 by finishing third.
