Józef Łuszczek
Józef Łuszczek (born 20 May 1955 in Ząb) is a Polish former cross-country skier who competed from 1978 to 1984. He won two medals at the 1978 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Lahti with a gold in the 15 km and a bronze in the 30 km. Cross-country Skiing (sport)
Competitive cross-country skiing encompasses a variety of race formats and course lengths. Rules of cross-country skiing are sanctioned by the International Ski Federation and by various national organizations. International competitions include the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships, the FIS Cross-Country World Cup, and at the Winter Olympic Games. Such races occur over homologated, groomed courses designed to support classic (in-track) and freestyle events, where the skiers may employ skate skiing. It also encompasses cross-country ski marathon events, sanctioned by the Worldloppet Ski Federation, and cross-country ski orienteering events, sanctioned by the International Orienteering Federation. Henryk Gruth
Henryk Jerzy Gruth (born 2 September 1957) is a former Polish professional ice hockey defenceman. One of the best Polish players, Gruth played for GKS Katowice and GKS Tychy in Poland. He spent one season in Switzerland with the Zürcher SC, where he scored seven goals and nineteen assists. He was inducted to the IIHF Hall of Fame in 2006. International career Gruth was member of the Poland men's national ice hockey team for the 1980 Olympics, 1984 Olympics, 1988 Olympics and 1992 Olympics, as well as for 17 World Championships. He holds the record for the most selection to the Polish squad, with 248, as well as the record for the most points (109). He was inducted to the IIHF Hall of Fame in 2006.
