Jérémy Spender (born 13 April 1982) is a former French footballer A football player or footballer is a sportsperson who plays one of the different types of football. The main types of football are association football, American football, Canadian football, Australian rules football, Gaelic football, rugby le ... who works as head coach for the U-15 team of Auxerre. Early life Spender was born in Toulon and raised in Ollioules. Career He began his career 1999 with Auxerre and was with them when Auxerre won the Coupe Gambardella in 2000. He retired in summer 2009. Coaching career Spender was named as under-18 head coach for Auxerre, succeeding Gérald Baticle, who formerly coached the under-13 team. After his retirement in July 2009, he was named head coach of the U-15 team. Association de la Jeunesse Auxerroise (), commonly known as AJ Auxerre or simply Auxerre (), is a French football club based in the commune of Auxerre in Burgundy. The Coupe Gambardella is a French football cup competition held between the under-18s of the French football clubs, organized by the French Football Federation (FFF). The cup is regarded as an opportunity for young hopefuls to showcase their skills in a national competition. Gérald Edmond Louis Baticle (born 10 September 1969) is a French professional football manager and former player who played as a striker. He was most recently the manager of Angers in Ligue 1. Playing career Born in Amiens, Baticle started his professional career in his native Picardy region at Amiens but quickly attracted the attention of Guy Roux who recruited him at Auxerre. He played his first game in Ligue 1 on 19 September 1991 against Metz. In the 1992–93 season, he was the UEFA Cup's top goalscorer as Auxerre reached the semi-finals where they were edged out by Borussia Dortmund after a penalty shootout.
