Jäneda
Jäneda (german: Jendel) is a small village in northern Estonia. It is located in Lääne-Viru County (from autumn 2005) and is a part of Tapa municipality. History Jäneda hill fort Jäneda hill fort was a hill fort used from the 10th to the 12th century. It consisted by a rampart reaching approximately , surrounding a triangular courtyard. There were two towers at the entrance at the southern end and, possibly, another tower at the northern end. The fort was surrounded by a moat. Jäneda manor Jäneda manor was founded as an estate before 1510. The estate has belonged to several different aristocratic families. The present building was built 1913-1915 in an eclectic Art Nouveau style with strong neo-Gothic influences. In 1922, the interiors were rebuilt after designs by architect Anton Lembit Soans. Tapa Parish ( et, Tapa vald) is a rural municipality in Lääne-Viru County in northern Estonia. The administrative centre of the municipality is the town of Tapa. It is located 70 km east of Estonia's capital, Tallinn. Counties ( et, maakond, plural ') are the first-level administrative subdivisions of Estonia. Estonian territory is composed of 15 counties, including 13 on the mainland and 2 on islands. The government (') of each county is led by a ' (governor) who represents the national government (') at the regional level. Governors are appointed by the national government for a term of five years. Urmas Sisask
Urmas Sisask (9 September 1960 – 17 December 2022) was an Estonian composer. Biography Sisask was born in Rapla on 9 September 1960. One of the major inspirations for his music was astronomy. Based on the trajectories of the planets in the Solar System, he created the "planetal scale", a mode consisting of the pitches C#, D, F#, G#, and A. Later, he discovered to his surprise that this was exactly the same as the Japanese ''Kumajoshi mode'', which is also known as the Japanese pentatonic scale. Sisask was a Roman Catholic, and much of what he composed was sacred music. His younger sister is singer and actress Siiri Sisask Siiri Sisask (born 21 September 1968) is an Estonian singer, stage and film actress, and politician. Sisask was born in Rapla. Finno-Ugric ( or ; ''Fenno-Ugric'') or Finno-Ugrian (''Fenno-Ugrian''), is a traditional grouping of all languages in the Uralic language family except the Samoyedic languages. Margaretha Geertruida MacLeod (née Zelle; 7 August 187615 October 1917), better known by the stage name Mata Hari (), was a Dutch exotic dancer and courtesan who was convicted of being a spy for Germany during World War I. She was executed by firing squad in France. The idea of a beautiful exotic dancer using her powers of seduction as a spy made her name synonymous with the ''femme fatale''. Her story has served as an inspiration for many books, films and other works. Lääne-Viru County ( et, Lääne-Viru maakond or ''Lääne-Virumaa'') is one of 15 counties of Estonia. It is in northern Estonia, on the south coast of the Gulf of Finland.
