The Jämtland-Härjedalens Fotbollförbund ''(Jämtland-Härjedalen Football Association)'' is one of the 24 district organisations of the Swedish Football Association. It administers lower tier football in the historical provinces of Jämtland and Härjedalen. Background Jämtland-Härjedalens Fotbollförbund, commonly referred to as Jämtland-Härjedalens FF, is the governing body for football in the historical provinces of Jämtland and Härjedalen, the corresponding area now being covered by Jämtland County. The Association was formed in 1928 and currently has 63 member clubs. Based in Östersund, the Association's Chairman is Leif Nilsson. Östersund
Östersund (; sma, Staare) is an urban area (city) in Jämtland in the middle of Sweden. It is the seat of Östersund Municipality and the capital of Jämtland County. Östersund is located at the shores of Sweden's fifth-largest lake, Storsjön, opposite the island Frösön. It is the only city in Jämtland. The northern part of the urban area is located inside of the municipality of Krokom. Östersund is the region's cultural and economical centre and by tradition a city of trade and commerce. Ope IF
Ope IF is a Swedish football club located in Ope near Östersund in Jämtland. Background Ope Idrottsförening is a sports club near Östersund that was founded on 30 January 1922. Football is the main activity today but in the past the club has also specialised in Nordic skiing, bandy and gymnastics. The bandy department was made its own club in 1974, called Östersunds BS. Since their foundation Ope IF has participated mainly in the upper and middle divisions of the Swedish football league system. The club's heyday was in the 1970s and the first half of the 1980s when they played in Division 2, which at that time was the second tier of Swedish football. The District Football Associations are the local governing bodies of association football in Sweden. District FAs exist to govern all aspects of local football in their defined areas, providing grassroots support to the Swedish Football Association by promoting and administering football, futsal and beach soccer in their respective districts. Division 5 is the seventh level in the league system of Swedish football and comprises 47 sections with 9 to 16 football teams in each. The competition There are 47 groups of 9 to 16 teams each representing a local geographical area. During the course of a season (starting in April and ending in October) each club plays the others twice, once at their home ground and once at that of their opponents, for a total of 18 to 22 games depending on the number of teams. The top team in each Division 5 group is promoted to Division 4 and the second placed teams may also be promoted or participate in the promotion/relegation play-offs. Östersunds Fotbollsklubb, commonly known simply as Östersunds FK, Östersund () or (especially locally) ÖFK, is a Swedish professional football club located in Östersund, Sweden and since 2022 play in the Swedish second tier, Superettan. The club was formed in 1996 as a merger of several Östersund clubs. The club is affiliated with the Jämtland-Härjedalens Fotbollförbund and play their home games at Jämtkraft Arena. Tandsbyns FK
Tandsbyns FK is a Swedish football club located in Tandsbyn. Background The club was originally known as Tandsbyns IF and dates back to 1945. It was active in football, athletics, cycling and all kinds of winter sports. In 1991 a separate football club was established in collaboration with another club and was named T/F-91 (Tandsbyn/Fåker-91).
