It is located on the outskirts of the city, between Ryd, Linköping, Ryd and Malmen airfield, and is crossed by an old stretch of the road to Mjölby. Linköping
Linköping () is a city in southern Sweden, with around 105,000 inhabitants as of 2021. It is the seat of Linköping Municipality and the capital of Östergötland County. Linköping is also the episcopal see of the Diocese of Linköping (Church of Sweden) and is well known for its cathedral. Ryd is a city district in Linköping, Sweden, best known for housing the bulk of the Linköping University (Linköpings Universitet, LiU) student body. They live in houses specifically assigned to LiU's students. Malmen Airfield
Malmen Airbase ( sv, Malmens flygplats) is a military airbase located in Malmslätt, Linköping Municipality, Östergötland County, Sweden. It is located west of Linköping. The base was opened by Carl Cederström in 1912. In the beginning the airbase had only three aircraft but more were bought in the same year. From 1926 to 1974 it served as an air force base for the Östgöta Wing (F 3). In 1974 the Wing was decommissioned, and the airbase was put under Bråvalla Wing (F 13) then later Uppland Wing (F 16). From 1998 it served as main base for the Swedish Armed Forces helicopter units, with the Swedish Armed Forces Helicopter Wing. From 2003 the Royal Swedish Airschool has been located here, to train pilots with Sk 60 jet trainers. The Swedish Air Force Museum is located on the airbase. Mjölby
Mjölby ( or ) is a city and the seat of Mjölby Municipality, Östergötland County, Sweden with 12,245 inhabitants in 2010. Mjölby is located by the rivulet Svartån. The name "Mjölby" is derived from ''Mölloby'', which comes from or ''mölna'', meaning "mill". Due to the rapids of Svartån and the fertile soils of the surrounding plains, Mjölby is a natural place for a mill. During the Dacke War in 1542–1543 Mjölby was the northernmost point reached by the rebels from Småland.
