Jyrki (TV Show)
''Jyrki'' (sometimes stylised as ''JYRK:.'') is a Finnish music television program that aired on the MTV3 channel from 1995 to 2001. It was an afternoon program about popular music for youths. The idea for the program came from the Canadian '' MuchMusic'' program by the CHUM network, whose material ''Jyrki'' borrowed and cooperated with to improve the concept. ''Jyrki'' was produced by Funny-Films Oy. Overview The first episode of ''Jyrki'' was on 1 September 1995, and the live broadcast from the Lasipalatsi in central Helsinki was sent five days a week one and a half hours at a time. When the Lasipalatsi was under renovation, the program was broadcast from Kalevankatu. The program consisted mostly of music videos and artist interviews. The last episode of ''Jyrki'' was on 21 December 2001. There were a total of 2901 episodes and they showed approximately four thousand music videos. Jyrki 69
Jyrki Pekka Emil Linnankivi (born 15 October 1968), known professionally as Jyrki 69, is a Finnish singer who is the lead vocalist of the rock band The 69 Eyes. In their early years, the band's sound was closer to glam metal, but since the album ''Blessed Be'' they have shifted into gothic rock. The 69 Eyes prefer to label their sound as "goth'n'roll". Jyrki's low and operatic bass-baritone vocal tone is reminiscent of fellow musicians Peter Steele of the gothic metal band Type O Negative and Andrew Eldritch of the gothic rock band The Sisters of Mercy (he covered their 1987 hit "This Corrosion" with Maryslim in 2007). His voice has been influenced by Elvis Presley, Jim Morrison, Iggy Pop, David Bowie and Glenn Danzig. He has written most of the lyrics of their songs. Jyrki Katainen
Jyrki Tapani Katainen (born 14 October 1971) is a Finnish politician who served as the European Commission's Vice-President for Jobs, Growth, Investment and Competitiveness from 2014 until 2019. Katainen was previously Prime Minister of Finland from 2011 to 2014 and chairman of the National Coalition Party from 2004 to 2014. He was succeeded by Alexander Stubb as chairman of Finland's National Coalition Party. After stepping down as Prime Minister, Katainen was elected as European Commission Vice-President in July 2014. Jyrki Jouko Juhani Kasvi (6 January 1964 – 16 November 2021) was a Finnish politician, and a member of the Finnish Parliament, representing the Green League. Biography Kasvi held a Ph.D. in Engineering from the Helsinki University of Technology. He wrote several books about computers and information society. Jyrki Juhani Järvilehto (; born 31 January 1966), better known as "JJ Lehto", is a Finnish racing driver. He won the 24 Hours of Le Mans twice, in 1995 and 2005. He is also a former Formula One driver. He was a protégé of Finnish 1982 Formula One World Champion Keke Rosberg, who first suggested that Jyrki Järvilehto should abbreviate his name to the more manageable JJ Lehto. Hämäläinen was the former editor of '' Suosikki'', a magazine which focuses on the country's pop music scene. Hämäläinen also worked as an MC, concert promoter, columnist and producer. Jyrki Hämäläinen was the editor of ''Suosikki'', a teen magazine, from 1968 until his retirement from the publication in 2002. Jyrki Olavi Lumme (born July 16, 1966) is a Finnish former professional ice hockey defenceman who played in the National Hockey League (NHL) and SM-liiga. After beginning his career in Finland, playing with Ilves Tampere for three seasons, he moved to North America to join the Montreal Canadiens in 1988. The Canadiens had selected Lumme two years prior in the 1986 NHL Entry Draft 57th overall. In his second NHL season, he was traded to the Vancouver Canucks, with whom he spent the majority of his career and enjoyed the most success. Jyrki Jokipakka ( , born 20 August 1991) is a Finnish professional ice hockey defenceman who is under contract to Ilves of the Liiga. He was selected by the Dallas Stars in the seventh round (195th overall) of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.
