Jyothi (1976 Film)
''Jyothi'' is a 1976 Telugu-language film directed by K. Raghavendra Rao. It is based on the story of an innocent girl "Jyothi." Jayasudha won the Filmfare Award for Best Actress – Telugu for her titular performance. She later credited the film's success for making her a famous actress in Telugu films. It is inspired by the Hindi film '' Mili'' (1975). though the storyline is completely different from the original except for the heroine suffering from a deadly disease. Plot Jyothi (Jayasudha), a teenage girl who is in love with Ravi (Murali Mohan), suddenly marries Rajayya ( Gummadi), an old man who is about her father's age. Kranthi Kumar
Talasila Kranthi Kumar was an Indian film director, producer, and screenwriter known for his works predominantly in Telugu cinema. He won two Filmfare Awards and four Nandi Awards. In 1985, he directed '' Sravanthi'', which won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Telugu that year. In 1991, he directed '' Seetharamayya Gari Manavaralu'', which was premiered in the Indian panorama section, at the 1991 International Film Festival of India. In 2000 he directed ''9 Nelalu'', premiered retrospective at the Toronto International Film Festival. He has garnered the National Film Award, five state Nandi Awards and two Filmfare Awards South. Filmfare Awards South is the South Indian segment of the annual Filmfare Awards, presented by the Filmfare magazine of The Times Group to honour both artistic and technical excellence of professionals in the Indian film industry encompassing four languages, namely, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada. They were introduced in 1954, around the films released in 1952-53 and Filmfare Awards initially recognizing the Hindi film industry. In 1964 awards were extended in Tamil, Telugu, Bengali and Marathi, around the films released in 1963. The inclusion of the Malayalam cinema in the awards came in 1967 while Kannada cinema was recognized in 1970. Acharya Aatreya (born Kilambi Venkata Narasimhacharyulu ) (7 May 1921 – 13 September 1989) was an Indian poet, lyricist, playwright, and screenwriter known for his works in Telugu cinema and Telugu theatre. He received the state Nandi Award for Best Lyricist in 1981 for "Andamaina Lokamani" from the film Tholi Kodi Koosindi, ''Tholikoodi Koosindi''. He is popularly known as ''Manasu Kavi (''). Kaikala Satyanarayana (25 July 1935 – 23 December 2022) was an Indian actor, producer, director, and politician who predominantly worked in Telugu cinema. He appeared in over 750 films and served as the Member of Parliament in the 11th Lok Sabha representing Machilipatnam constituency from Telugu Desam Party. ''Mili'' is a 1975 Indian Hindi-language romantic drama film directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee. It starred Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan and Ashok Kumar in lead roles. Sir Anand Satyanand, (born 22 July 1944) is a former lawyer, judge and ombudsman who served as the 19th Governor-General of New Zealand from 2006 to 2011. Satyanand was chair of the Commonwealth Foundation for two 2-year terms, ending in December 2016.
