Jyllinge
Jyllinge is a town located on the eastern shores of Roskilde Fjord, midway between Roskilde and Frederikssund, Roskilde Municipality, some 40 km west of Copenhagen, Denmark. The original fishing village is surrounded by large areas of Single-family detached homes. As of 1 January 2022, it had a population of 10,134. History Jyllinge is first mentioned in 1171 as ''Iuleghe'', possibly derived from ''Iula'', meaning "the yellow', an old name for Lilleø, and from Old Danish ''eki'', meaning "oak forest". The village consisted of a mixture of fishermen and farmers. The fishing took place from small boats on the fiord and was mainly for eel. In 1861, the village had 28 fishermen and 21 boats. The first primitive harbor was constructed in 1870. It saw a modest expansion in 1906 and a boatyard opened in 1909. In 1926, a group of fishermen founded Jyllinge Fish Exports. Mikkel Krogh Damsgaard (; born 3 July 2000) is a Danish professional footballer who plays as a left winger or attacking midfielder for Premier League club Brentford and the Denmark national team. Christine Antorini
Christine Edda Antorini (born 23 May 1965, in Jyllinge) is a Danish politician for the Social Democrats, formerly for the Socialist People's Party. From 2011 to 2015 she was the Minister of Education in the Cabinet of Helle Thorning-Schmidt. She was a member of the Folketing from 1998 to 1999 and again from 2005 to 2018. Background Antorini was born in Jyllinge, near Copenhagen, where her mother was a teacher and her father a dairyman. Her mother was of Swiss Italian descent and Antorini was brought up in the Catholic faith. Gundsømagle
Gundsømagle is a town located two kilometres east of Jyllinge and Roskilde Fjord in the northern part of Roskilde Municipality, approximately 40 kilometres west of Copenhagen, Denmark. History Gundsømagle is mentioned (as Guthensø; 1376 ''Gundesiø maklæ'') in a letter from Bishop Absalon where he grants the village to Æbeæholt Abbey which was founded on the small island of Eskilsø in Roskilde Fjord. A this point it consisted of four farms. When the monastery moved to its new home in North Zealand, it kept some of its old holdings. The largest farm in the village, Gundsøgård, came under Bidstrup in 1300. It was confiscated by the Crown in connection with the Reformation and the land was sold off in lots to private buyers in 1670. In 1792, Gundsømagle consisted of 34 farms. Football Club Nordsjælland, commonly known as FC Nordsjælland, Nordsjælland () or FCN, is a professional Danish football team from the North Zealand town of Farum. Roskilde Municipality
Roskilde municipality ( da, Roskilde kommune) is a municipality in Region Sjælland, 30 km west of Copenhagen on the island of Zealand (''Sjælland'') in east Denmark. The biggest city is Roskilde, the municipality covers an area of 212 km², and it has a total population of around 90,000 (2022). Its current mayor is Tomas Breddam. Roskilde Fjord is the fjord north of Roskilde, Denmark. It is a long branch of the Isefjord. Church Porch
A church porch is a room-like structure at a church's main entrance. A porch protects from the weather to some extent. Some porches have an outer door, others a simple gate, and in some cases the outer opening is not closed in any way. The porch at St Wulfram's Church, Grantham, like many others of the period, has a room above the porch. It once provided lodging for the priest, but now houses the Francis Trigge Chained Library. Such a room is sometimes called a parvise which spelt as parvis normally means an open space or colonnade in front of a church entrance. Mette Gjerskov (born 28 July 1966 in Gundsø) is a Danish politician, who is a member of the Folketing for the Social Democrats political party. She was elected into parliament at the 2005 Danish general election. She is a former minister for Food, Agriculture and Fisheries. Background She finished her studies as an agronomist at the Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University in 1993.
