Juán Enrique Hayes
Juan Enrique Hayes ( es, Juan Enrique Hayes, 20 January 1891 – 25 July 1976) was an Argentine footballer, who played his entire career for Rosario Central (where he spent 20 years). Hayes also played for the Argentina national team. Nicknamed ''Harry'', ''Maestro'', and ''Inglés'', Hayes, with 221 official goals (including AFA and Liga Rosarina competitions) is the all-time leading top scorer in the history of Rosario Central. Moreover, Hayes is the most winning player with 20 official titles won (5 AFA championships, and 15 titles in Rosario regional leagues). His brother Ennis was another notable player for Rosario Central in the 1910s and 1920s. Career Harry Hayes was the son of English immigrants who had travelled over to Argentina on a coal ship. Copa De Competencia (Asociación Amateurs)
The Copa de Competencia was an official Argentine football cup competition contested between 1920 and 1926. It was established by the "Asociación Amateurs de Football", a dissident body formed a year before. The Associación Amateurs organized its own championships until 1926 when it merged to official Asociación Argentina. Unlike the Copa de Competencia Jockey Club, this Cup did not qualify any team to play an international match because it had been created by a dissident league (clubs registered to AFA played against the Uruguayan Football Association champions). The inaugural edition of the cup was contested by 21 clubs from dissident leagues of Buenos aires and Rosario. The Copa de Competencia Jockey Club was an official Argentine football cup competition contested between 1907 and 1933. The winner of this Cup was allowed to play the Tie Cup against the Uruguayan champion of Copa de Competencia. History The Copa de Competencia Jockey Club was first awarded in 1907, being Alumni its first winner. Teams affiliated to the Argentine Football Association and Liga Rosarina de Football were allowed to enter to this competition. Rosarian teams participated until the 1919 edition. The 1916 Copa de Honor Municipalidad de Buenos Aires was the final that decided the champion of the 11th edition of this National cup of Argentina. The Copa de Honor Municipalidad de Buenos Aires was an Argentine official football cup competition. It was contested fourteen times between 1905 and 1920. This cup was played by teams from Buenos Aires and Rosario (which belonged to Liga Rosarina de Football). The champion of this tournament qualified to play the Copa de Honor Cousenier versus the winner of Uruguayan Copa de Honor representing the Association of that country. In 1936, a new "Copa de Honor" was played under a regular Primera División season, with 18 teams playing a single-round tournament. San Lorenzo finished 1st and was awarded the cup.
