Jusuf Gërvalla
Jusuf Gërvalla (October 1, 1943 – January 17, 1982) was a Kosovo Albanian activist, writer, musician, Marxist-Leninist and the founder of the group called National Movement for the Liberation of Kosovo. Biography Born in the village Burrëmadh (Dubovik), in the municipality of Dečan in Yugoslavia, Gërvalla pursued a college education in Prishtina and Ljubljana before working as a journalist in Skopje and Prishtina. Deçan Municipality
Deçan Municipality or Dečani Municipality ( sq, Komuna e Deçanit; sr, Општина Дечани, ''Opština Dečani'', ) is a municipality located in the Peja District of Kosovo. The seat is the town of Deçan. According to the 2011 census, the municipality has 40,019 inhabitants, with 3,803 inhabitants in the town of Deçan. It is a mountainous area which borders Montenegro and Albania. There is a total of 37 settlements in the municipality. The municipality covers an area of . During the 1998–1999 war, Deçan was one of the strongholds of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) and subsequently suffered a large amount of infrastructure destruction by the Serbian police and paramilitary forces. The People's Movement of Kosovo () was a political party in Kosovo active after the Kosovo War, having originally been founded as a political movement of Albanian nationalists in 1982. Despite participating in several elections in autonomous Kosovo, its pre-war existence was its most historically significant period. Historically, its support and membership came from Albanian diaspora, especially within Switzerland and Germany, originating mainly from former Yugoslav republics. Ideology The LPK was formed in the early 1980s, during the turmoil which would bring the Albanian population of Yugoslavia to wider attention. Lëvizja Vetëvendosje (, en, Self-determination Movement; LVV) is a centre-left to left-wing political party in Kosovo. It is orientated towards principles of social democracy, populism, and Albanian nationalism.
