Justinas Beržanskis
Justinas Beržanskis (born 12 January 1989) is a Lithuanian steeplechase runner. He finished eighth at the 2013 Summer Universiade, seventh at the 2015 Summer Universiade and tenth at the 2017 Summer Universiade. He competed at the 2009 European U23 Championships (1500 metres), 2014 European Championships and the 2018 European Championships without reaching the final. Steeplechase (athletics)
The steeplechase is an obstacle race in Sport of athletics, athletics which derives its name from the Steeplechase (horse racing), steeplechase in horse racing. The foremost version of the event is the 3000 metres steeplechase. The 2000 metres steeplechase is the next most common distance. In youth athletics, a distance of 1000 metres is occasionally used for steeplechase races. History Steeple chasing was originally a horse riding event that grew out of hunting with dogs. The men's 3000 metre steeplechase at the 2014 European Athletics Championships took place at the Letzigrund on 12 and 14 August. Mahiedine Mekhissi-Benabbad of France won the race, but he was later disqualified after he took off his shirt while running down the home straight.
