Justin Vogel
Paul Justin Vogel (born October 14, 1993) is a former American football punter. He signed with the Green Bay Packers as an undrafted free agent in 2017. He played college football at the University of Miami. Professional career Green Bay Packers After going undrafted in the 2017 NFL Draft, Vogel signed with the Green Bay Packers on May 5, 2017. He received interest from multiple teams, ultimately he chose the Packers because he felt he'd have an "equal chance and equal opportunity to compete." Vogel was expected to compete with veteran Jake Schum for the starting punting job. However, Schum was unable to participate due to injury, leading to his release on June 1, 2017. Vogel averaged 45.7 yards per punt with a long of 60 in the preseason, earning him a spot on the Packers' 53-man roster. Punter (football)
A punter (P) in gridiron football is a special teams player who receives the snapped ball directly from the line of scrimmage and then punts (kicks) the football to the opposing team so as to limit any field position advantage. This generally happens on a fourth down in American football and a third down in Canadian football. Punters may also occasionally take part in fake punts in those same situations, when they throw or run the football instead of punting. Skills and usage The purpose of the punt is to force the team that is receiving the kick to start as far as possible from the kicking team's end zone. Accordingly, the most effective punts land just outside the receiving team's end zone and land either out of bounds (making it impossible to advance the ball until the next play) or after being kicked exceptionally high (allowing the kicking team time to run down the field and prevent the punt returner from advancing the ball). 2017 NFL Draft
The 2017 NFL Draft was the 82nd annual meeting of National Football League (NFL) franchises to select newly eligible American football players. It was held in front of the Philadelphia Museum of Art on April 27–29, returning to Philadelphia for the first time since 1961. 2020 XFL Supplemental Draft
The 2020 XFL Draft was the inaugural player selection process to fill the rosters of the eight teams of the 2020 reboot of the XFL. The draft was held on October 15–16, 2019, via conference call, with results released through the XFL's social media channels. Structure The XFL player allocation process was held in multiple phases, separated by position groups. The league used a "snake" format in each phase, in which the draft order reversed with each round. The draft order was shuffled for each phase as predetermined through lotteries. 2018 Pro Bowl
The 2018 Pro Bowl was the National Football League's all-star game for the 2017 season, which was played at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida on January 28, 2018. For the first time since 2009, the game started during afternoon hours instead of primetime hours for U.S. Mainland viewers with a 15.00 ET start.
