Justin O'Neal
Justin O'Neal (born October 24, 1977) is an American former professional tennis player. O'Neal, an Ohio native, played collegiate tennis for the Florida Gators and had to wait until the age of 30 to make his ATP Tour main draw debut, having spent several years out of the game following graduation. His debut came at the 2008 Indianapolis Tennis Championships, which he qualified for with wins over Jason Marshall and Brendan Evans. He was beaten in the first round by world number 77 Lu Yen-hsun in two tiebreak sets, failing to convert three set points in the second tiebreak. In 2013 he was announced as an inductee into the University of Florida Athletics Hall of Fame. Tennis
Tennis is a racket sport that is played either individually against a single opponent ( singles) or between two teams of two players each ( doubles). Each player uses a tennis racket that is strung with cord to strike a hollow rubber ball covered with felt over or around a net and into the opponent's court. The object of the game is to manoeuvre the ball in such a way that the opponent is not able to play a valid return. The player who is unable to return the ball validly will not gain a point, while the opposite player will. Tennis is an Olympic sport and is played at all levels of society and at all ages. Florida Gators
The Florida Gators are the intercollegiate athletic teams that represent the University of Florida, located in Gainesville. The ATP Tour is a worldwide top-tier tennis tour for men organized by the Association of Tennis Professionals. Jason Marshall (tennis)
Jason Marshall (born June 20, 1978) is a former professional tennis player from the United States. Biography Born in Dallas, Marshall attended J.J. Pearce High School in Richardson, Texas. After an injury plagued high school tennis career, he was recruited by Indiana's Purdue University, where he was a two-time Big Ten singles champion. From 2001 he competed as a professional, most successfully in the doubles format. A left-handed player, Marshall reached a best doubles ranking of 101 in the world and featured in the main draw of five ATP Tour tournaments from 2003 to 2005. He twice competed in Wimbledon qualifying for the men's doubles and won a total of five ATP Challenger titles in doubles. Brendan Evans (born April 8, 1986 in Pontiac, Michigan) was an American professional tennis player. He is currently a retired professional tennis player. Lu Yen-hsun (; born 14 August 1983) is a Taiwanese retired professional tennis player, who goes by the nickname Rendy Lu. He won the most titles on the ATP Challenger Tour in tennis history. His favorite surface is hardcourt, though several of his ATP Tour career highlights came on grass, including reaching the quarterfinals of the 2010 Wimbledon Championships. The All-America designation is an annual honor bestowed upon an amateur sports person from the United States who is considered to be one of the best amateurs in their sport. Individuals receiving this distinction are typically added to an All-America team for their sport.
