Justin Lockey
Justin Lockey (born February 1980, Doncaster, England.) is a British musician, composer, record producer, recording engineer, and record label owner from the north of England. He is best known as the lead guitarist in multi platinum selling band Editors as well as Minor Victories, alongside Stuart Braithwaite of Mogwai, Rachel Goswell of Slowdive and his brother James Lockey (with whom he also makes films with under the handheldcineclub moniker). Early life Lockey grew up in his South Yorkshire home town listening to record collections belonging to his older brothers and credits the American college rock and grunge of Pixies, Nirvana, Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr, The Breeders, The Smashing Pumpkins alongside British bands such as The Wedding Present, Teenage Fanclub, The La's with being part of his formative influences. Doncaster
Doncaster (, ) is a city in South Yorkshire, England. Named after the River Don, it is the administrative centre of the larger City of Doncaster. ''Ignoto'' is the debut album by the British post-hardcore band Yourcodenameis:Milo and was released in 2005 on Fiction/Polydor. The album develops the strong sci-fi/post-hardcore sound of the group from their first mini album, ''All Roads to Fault''. Upon its release despite not being a commercial success, it was well received by critics. A striking feature of the album is the cover artwork, which was produced by renowned designer Storm Thorgerson (with Peter Curzon and photographer Rupert Truman), who has also produced artwork for such memorable albums as ''The Dark Side of the Moon'' by Pink Floyd (with Hipgnosis) and recently ''Frances the Mute'' by The Mars Volta. Mark Ellis (born 16 August 1960), known by his professional pseudonym Flood, is a British rock and synthpop record producer and audio engineer. Electrical Audio
Electrical Audio is a recording studio, recording facility founded in Chicago, Illinois by musician and recording engineer Steve Albini in 1997. Hundreds of independent music projects have been recorded there. Unlike most producers, Albini refuses to take any royalties from musicians who record at the studio. Founded during an era of increasing popularity for digital recording, Electrical Audio was unusual for using only analog recording technology, including mixing consoles, tape recorders and many outboard sound effects. The rooms are also designed to offer natural reverberation rather than adding the quality in post-production. In a 2007 post on the studio's message board, the studio's technician Greg Norman revealed that the studio had acquired a Pro Tools rig for computer-aided recording and editing, saying it had become "as important to have as a piano". Steve Albini (pronounced ; born July 22, 1962) is an American musician, record producer, audio engineer and music journalist. He was a member of Big Black, Rapeman and Flour, and is a member of Shellac. He is the founder, owner and principal engineer of Electrical Audio, a recording studio complex in Chicago. In 2018, Albini estimated that he had worked on several thousand albums over his career. He has worked with acts such as Nirvana, Pixies, the Breeders, PJ Harvey, and former Led Zeppelin members Jimmy Page and Robert Plant. Maida Vale Studios
Maida Vale Studios is a complex of seven BBC sound studios, of which five are in regular use, in Delaware Road, Maida Vale, west London. It has been used to record thousands of classical music, popular music and drama sessions for BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio 3, BBC Radio 4 and BBC Radio 6 Music from 1946 to the present. On 30 October 2009, BBC Radio 1 celebrated ''75 Years of Maida Vale'' by exclusively playing 75 tracks recorded at the studios over the years.
