Justin Jordan
Justin Jordan (born 1978) is an American comics writer. He is known for co-creating (with artist Tradd Moore) ''The Strange Talent of Luther Strode'' and its two sequels (published by Image Comics), and for writing 22 issues of '' Green Lantern: New Guardians'' (DC Comics). His other work includes writing 6- to 9-issue "New 52" runs on ''Superboy'', '' Deathstroke'', and ''Team 7 ''(DC); relaunching and writing 10 issues of '' Shadowman'' (Valiant Comics); and co-creating series such as ''Deep State'' (Boom! Stumptown Comics Fest
Stumptown Comics Fest was a comic book convention, held annually in Portland, Oregon from 2004–2013. In the model of the Alternative Press Expo and the Small Press Expo, Stumptown was a forum for artists, writers and publishers of comic art in its various forms to expose the public to comics not typically accessible through normal commercial channels. Harvey Award
The Harvey Awards are given for achievement in comic books. Named for writer-artist Harvey Kurtzman, the Harvey Awards were founded by Gary Groth in 1988, president of the publisher Fantagraphics, to be the successor to the Kirby Awards that were discontinued in 1987. The Harvey Awards are now nominated by the Harvey Awards Nomination Committee. The winners are selected by an open vote among comic-book professionals. The Harveys are no longer affiliated with Fantagraphics. The Harvey Awards Executive Committee is made up of unpaid volunteers, and the Awards are financed through sponsorships. Marvin Arthur Wolfman (born May 13, 1946) is an American comic book and novelization writer. He worked on Marvel Comics's ''The Tomb of Dracula'', for which he and artist Gene Colan created the vampire-slayer Blade, and DC Comics's '' The New Teen Titans'' and the ''Crisis on Infinite Earths'' limited series with George Pérez. Tom DeFalco (born June 26, 1950) is an American comic book writer and editor well known for his association with Marvel Comics, with long runs on ''Amazing Spider-Man'', ''Thor'', and ''Fantastic Four''. Career While in college, DeFalco "wrote for a few local newspapers, a weekly comic strip and did a few short stories", and after graduation "got in touch with the various comic book companies", which led to him beginning his comics career as an editorial assistant with Archie Comics in mid-1972. Robert Liefeld (; born October 3, 1967) is an American comic book creator. A prominent writer and artist in the 1990s, he is known for co-creating the character Cable (comics), Cable with writer Louise Simonson and the character Deadpool with writer Fabian Nicieza. In the early 1990s, Liefeld gained popularity due to his work on Marvel Comics' ''New Mutants, The New Mutants'' and later ''X-Force''. In 1992, he and several other popular Marvel illustrators left the company to found Image Comics, which started a wave of comic books owned by their creators rather than by publishers. Andy Lanning is an English comic book writer and inker, known for his work for Marvel Comics and DC Comics, and for his collaboration with Dan Abnett. Career Lanning works primarily at Marvel Comics and DC Comics as an inker. He has also pencilled books, such as his creation ''The Sleeze Brothers''. Lanning's writing has included his and Abnett's 2000 relaunch of DC's title ''Legion of Super-Heroes''. The two co-created the Resurrection Man character with artist Jackson Guice in 1997. Dan Abnett (born 12 October 1965) is an English comic book writer and novelist. He has been a frequent collaborator with fellow writer Andy Lanning, and is known for his work on books for both Marvel Comics, and their UK imprint, Marvel UK, since the 1990s, and also ''2000 AD (comics), 2000 AD''. He has also contributed to DC Comics titles, and his ''Warhammer Fantasy (setting), Warhammer Fantasy'' and ''Warhammer 40,000'' novels and graphic novels for Games Workshop's Black Library now run to several dozen titles and have sold over two million copies. Sideways (Derek James) is a superhero created by writers Dan DiDio, Justin Jordan, and artist Kenneth Rocafort who appears in media published by DC Comics. Publication history The character debuted in ''Sideways'' #1, which was originally promoted in spring 2017 as part of a group of new comic series set for release in fall 2017. They were branded as the "Dark Matter" line and their stories follow events from the '' Dark Nights: Metal'' crossover. In November 2017, the line was rebranded as " The New Age of DC Heroes" and publication was delayed until early 2018. The first issue of ''Sideways'' was published February 14, 2018.
