Justice (band)
Justice is a French electronic music duo consisting of Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay. The duo's label is Ed Banger Records, managed by Pedro Winter. Justice is known for incorporating a strong rock influence into their music and image. The band's debut album ''Cross'' was released in June 2007 to critical acclaim. The album was later nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Electronic/Dance Album and came in at number 15 on Pitchfork's ''Top 50 Albums of 2007'' and number 18 on Blender's "25 Best Albums of 2007" list. It was nominated for the 2007 Shortlist Prize, losing out to ''The Reminder'' by Feist. The band's remix of the MGMT song "Electric Feel" won the Grammy Award for Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical in 2009. ''Hyperdrama'' is the fourth studio album by French electronic music duo Justice, released on 26 April 2024 through Ed Banger Records and Because Music. It is their first studio album in over seven years, following ''Woman'' (2016). The album was preceded by the singles " One Night/All Night" with Tame Impala, and "Generator", which were released together alongside its announcement, followed by "Incognito" and later "Saturnine" with Miguel. The album received generally positive reviews from critics. The duo will tour North America and Europe in support of the album from April to December 2024, beginning with a performance at Coachella. It was first released digitally on 11 June 2007, and later on 18 June through Ed Banger Records and Because Music in most countries and Vice Records in the United States. Recorded during 2005 and 2006 in Paris, ''Cross'' was composed as an "opera-disco" album. It features many samples and "microsamples" throughout, with about 400 albums being used as sampled material.
