"Just My Imagination" is a song by Irish band the Cranberries. It was released as the third single from the band's fourth album, ''Bury the Hatchet'', in August 1999. A music video, directed by Phil Harder, was released to promote the single. In 2017, the song was released as a stripped-down acoustic version on the band's '' Something Else'' album. The Cranberries
The Cranberries were an Irish rock band formed in Limerick, Ireland. Originally named the Cranberry Saw Us, the band were formed in 1989 by lead singer Niall Quinn, guitarist Noel Hogan, bassist Mike Hogan and drummer Fergal Lawler. Quinn was replaced as lead singer by Dolores O'Riordan in 1990 and they changed their name to the Cranberries. The band classified themselves as an alternative rock group, but incorporated aspects of indie rock, jangle pop, folk rock, post-punk and pop rock into their sound. The Cranberries rose to international fame in the 1990s with their debut album, ''Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can't We?'', which became a commercial success. The Federazione Industria Musicale Italiana (FIMI) is an umbrella organization that keeps track of virtually all aspects of the music recording industry in Italy. It was established in 1992, when major corporate labels left the previously existing Associazione dei Fonografici Italiani (AFI). During the following years, most of the remaining Italian record labels left AFI to join the new organisation. As of 2011, FIMI represents 2,500 companies operating in the music business. FIMI is a member of the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry and of the Italian employers' federation, Confindustria. It came into existence as a daily newspaper in 1981 when two formerly independent newspapers, Vísir and Dagblaðið, merged. Bruce Earl Fairbairn (December 30, 1949 – May 17, 1999) was a Canadian record producer. He was active as a producer from 1976 to 1999, and is considered one of the best of his era. His most successful productions are ''Slippery When Wet'' and ''New Jersey'' by Bon Jovi, '' Permanent Vacation'', ''Pump'', and ''Get a Grip'' by Aerosmith, '' The Razors Edge'' by AC/DC, and ''Balance'' by Van Halen, each of which sold at least three million copies. ''Bury the Hatchet'' is the fourth studio album by Irish alternative rock band the Cranberries, released on 19 April 1999. In the US, the album had shipped 500,000 copies as of 2 June 1999, and received a gold certification. The album is the first album released by the band after their first hiatus, which began in September 1996. Dolores O'Riordan had taken that time to heal from stress-induced diseases, and also had her first child, Taylor, during this period. This last fact influenced some of the tracks on the album, most notably " Animal Instinct" and "You and Me". The themes of the songs vary from maternity and children to divorce and child abuse. Album cover The album cover, which was designed by Storm Thorgerson, depicts a naked man being watched by a giant eye in a barren landscape.
