Junxattus
''Junxattus'' is a monotypic genus of southeast Asian jumping spiders native to Sumatra. It contains the single species, ''Junxattus daiqini'', first described by Jerzy Prószyński and Christa Deeleman-Reinhold in 2012. The genus was placed in the subfamily Euophryinae, the equivalent of the tribe Euophryini. In 2015, Junxia Zhang and Wayne Maddison rejected the genus, placing the species in ''Laufeia''. The genus was re-validated by Prószyński in 2019, and it is accepted by the World Spider Catalog . Laufeia
''Laufeia'' is a spider genus of the jumping spider family, Salticidae, with a mainly Asian distribution, where they are found on tree trunks and branches or among leaf litter. Description ''Laufeia'' species are mostly small, hairy, brownish spiders. The chelicera usually has a tooth with two cusps on the rear-facing edge. The male generally has a slightly hardened plate ( scutum) on the upper surface of the abdomen. The genitalia vary considerably between species; for example, the male palpal bulb has either a long or short embolus, which may or may not be coiled. Taxonomy The genus ''Laufeia'' was erected by Eugène Simon in 1889 for the type species '' Laufeia aenea'', which had been collected in Yokohama, Japan. Jerzy Prószyński
Jerzy Prószyński (born 1935 in Warsaw) is a Polish arachnologist specializing in systematics of jumping spiders (family Salticidae). He is a graduate of the University of Warsaw, a long-term employee of the Siedlce University of Natural Sciences and Humanities and the Institute of Zoology of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw. Biography In 1957 he completed his biological studies at the University of Warsaw. During his studies he was employed at the Institute of Zoology of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw, where he conducted research on spiders in the Kampinos Forest. Between 1963 and 1967 he lectured on zoology at the University of Ghana. In 1966 he obtained his Ph.D. at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. A year later he was given the opportunity to pursue a postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard University, but he was refused a passport. Jumping spiders are a group of spiders that constitute the family (biology), family Salticidae. Wayne Paul Maddison , is a professor and Canada Research Chair at the departments of zoology and botany at the University of British Columbia, and the Director of the Spencer Entomological Collection at the Beaty Biodiversity Museum.
