Bruno Junqueira
Bruno Junqueira (born November 4, 1976) is a Brazilian race car driver who most recently competed in the IRL IndyCar Series. He is a former Formula 3000 champion and three-time runner-up in the Champ Car World Series. Racing career Early career Junqueira started racing karts in Brazil and dominated Formula Three Sudamericana before moving to Formula 3000. He tested for the Williams Formula One team for many years, and came close to landing a race drive in 2000, losing out to Jenson Button. He rebounded from this setback, winning that year's International Formula 3000 Championship. Champ Car In 2001 Junqueira joined the CART Championship Car series driving for Chip Ganassi Racing where he had immediate success, capturing a win in his 14th race and finished second in points with two wins the following year. Diego Junqueira (; born December 28, 1980) is a professional tennis player who plays left-handed (with a double-handed backhand) from Argentina. His highest rank was world no.68, achieved on March 9, 2009. João Manuel Perera Junqueira (born 24 June 1965 in Chaves, Alto Trás-os-Montes) is a retired Portuguese runner who specialized in the 3000 metres steeplechase. He competed in his special event at the 1991, 1993 and 1999 World Championships and sixth-placed in 10,000 m in 1994 European Athletics Championships as well as the 1992 Summer Olympics. At the 1993 World Cross Country Championships he earned the distinction of a bronze medal in the team competition, having finished 41st in the individual long race. He then recorded his best placing with a 23rd place in the 1998 short race, the team finishing fifth. He was also a part of the sixth-placed Portuguese team at the 2001 World Cross Country Championships. Luís José Junqueira Freire (December 31, 1832 – June 24, 1855) was a Brazilian poet and Benedictine monk, adept of the "Ultra-Romanticism" movement and author of ''Inspirações do Claustro''. He is the patron of the 25th chair of the Brazilian Academy of Letters. Biography Luís José Junqueira Freire was born December 31, 1832, in Salvador, Bahia, to José Vicente de Sá Freire and Felicidade Augusta Junqueira. After completing his primary studies and Latin, he was matriculated at the Liceu Provincial of Salvador in 1849. Two years later, he joined the Order of Saint Benedict by family reasons. Although unsatisfacted living at the monastery, there he could write and read poetry, and served as a teacher. He demanded his secularity in 1853, and, one year later, having obtained it, he refugiated at home, where he wrote his short ''Autobiography''. Paulo Alfeu Junqueira Duarte
Paulo Duarte (November 17, 1899 – March 23, 1984), full name Paulo Alfeu Junqueira Duarte, was a Brazilian archaeologist and humanist. He was the first person to practice archaeology and advocate for the protection of archaeological sites on a large scale in Brazil. Duarte excavated hundreds of shell middens throughout Brazil which had been mined for lime since the beginning of the colonial period. He established the Pre-Historical State Commission of São Paulo (Comissão de Pré-História de São Paulo) in 1952, housed at the University of São Paulo, to preserve the objects he discovered. He also conducted excavations along the coast of São Paulo state, which discovered a much-publicized pre-historic human skull known as " Miss Sambaqui". In addition to his archaeological work, Duarte was a leading proponent of Brazilian culture, folklore and art. Rua da Junqueira, mostly known simply as Junqueira, is a traditional shopping street in Póvoa de Varzim in Portugal. The street, located in Póvoa de Varzim City Center, it is the main and the oldest shopping street of the city, with several boutiques, some opened for over 100 years, and small shopping centers.
