Jungle Man-Eaters
''Jungle Man-Eaters'' is a 1954 American adventure film directed by Lee Sholem starring Johnny Weissmuller, Karin Booth and Richard Stapley. It was the last official Jungle Jim movie after Screen Gems bought the rights to make a TV series based on the character (which also starred Weissmuller). With only three movies on his contract remaining, Weissmuller used them wisely by just playing himself, but the format stayed the same. Despite the title, there are no Jungle Man-Eaters shown in the film. Plot Jungle Jim is recruited to track down a group of French diamond smugglers who seek to alter the price of diamonds through taking over a secret diamond field. The smugglers not only murder the original owners of the diamond field but set up inter-tribal warfare to prevent any intruders from learning of the diamond field. Lee Sholem
Lee Tabor Sholem (May 25, 1913 in Paris, Illinois, – August 19, 2000 in Los Angeles, California) was an American television and film director. Nicknamed ""Roll 'Em" Sholem", he is identified more than anyone else in the film industry, industry with speed and efficiency. He directed more than 1300 productions, including both feature films and TV episodes, without ever going over schedule. His achievements over a 40-year career have, as yet, been unsurpassed in Cinema of the United States, Hollywood history. Sholem's first film was ''Tarzan's Magic Fountain'' in 1949 and his last film was ''Doomsday Machine'' in 1972. Bernie Hamilton
Bernard Hamilton (June 12, 1928 – December 30, 2008) was an American actor. Best known as Captain Dobey in '' Starsky & Hutch'' (1975-1979). Biography Hamilton was born in East Los Angeles; his brother was jazz drummer Chico Hamilton. He attended Oakland Technical High School, where he first became interested in acting. In films from 1950, he labored in bit roles for years before getting noticed in the film ''One Potato, Two Potato'' (1964), the story of an interracial marriage. He is best remembered for his role as the brusque, no-nonsense Captain Dobey in the United States 1970s police series '' Starsky and Hutch''. Hamilton was also an impresario; starting in the late 1960s he ran a nightclub/art gallery called Citadel d’Haiti on Sunset Boulevard. Arthur Lester Matthews (6 June 1900 – 5 June 1975) was an English actor. In his career, the handsome Englishman made more than 180 appearances in film and on television. He was erroneously credited in later years as Les Matthews. Matthews played supporting roles in films like ''The Raven'' and ''Werewolf of London'' (both 1935), but his career deteriorated into bit parts. Gregory Gaye (born Grigoriy Grigoryevich Ge; October 10, 1900 – August 23, 1993) was a Russian-American character actor. The son of an actor, he was born in St. Petersburg, Russia. He was the uncle of actor George Gaynes.
