Juncker–Asselborn Ministry II
Juncker–Asselborn Ministry II was the government of Luxembourg between 23 July 2009 and 11 July 2013. It was led by, and named after, Prime Minister of Luxembourg, Prime Minister Jean-Claude Juncker and Deputy Prime Minister of Luxembourg, Deputy Prime Minister Jean Asselborn. It was formed on 23 July 2009, after the Luxembourgian legislative election, 2009, 2009 election to the Chamber of Deputies of Luxembourg, Chamber of Deputies. It fell after the withdrawal of the Luxembourg Socialist Workers' Party from the government; Prime Minister Juncker submitted his resignation to the Grand Duke on 11 July 2013, and a snap election was called. Ministers Formation The Christian Social People's Party (CSV) emerged the winner of the Luxembourg general election, 2009, election of 7 June 2009. It received 38,04 % of the votes and 26 seats. Luc Frieden
Luc Frieden (born 16 September 1963) is a Luxembourgish politician, lawyer, and business executive. He has held several posts in the cabinet of Luxembourg, including as Minister for Justice (1998–2009), Minister for Defence (2004–2006), and Minister for Finances (2009–2013). He is a member of the Trilateral Commission. Early life and education Luc Frieden completed high school in his home country Luxembourg and received thereafter an international university education in France, the UK and the US. He graduated in business law from Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne. Nicolas Schmit
Nicolas Schmit (born 10 December 1953) is a politician from Luxembourg serving as European Commissioner for Jobs and Social Rights since 2019. A member of the Luxembourg Socialist Workers' Party (LSAP), he was previously a member of the government of Luxembourg from 2004 to 2019 and a Member of the European Parliament (MEP) in 2019. Claude Wiseler
Claude Wiseler (born 30 January 1960 in Luxembourg City) is a Luxembourgish politician. He has been a member of the Christian Social People's Party (CSV) since 1983, and served in the government led by Jean-Claude Juncker until 2013. He attended the Athénée de Luxembourg, before studying literature in Paris. He returned to the Athénée to teach language in 1983, which he continued to do until 1988. Etienne Schneider (; born 29 January 1971) is a Luxembourg politician and economist of the Luxembourg Socialist Workers' Party (LSAP).
