Jun Bernardino
Emilio "Jun" Bernardino, Jr. (November 9, 1947 – March 24, 2007) was the fifth commissioner of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). He was elected as commissioner of the league in 1994 and retired in 2002. He served as the commissioner of the Shakey's V-League and of the 2006-07 season of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (Philippines). Early life Bernardino was a member of the Ateneo de Manila High School Blue Eaglets basketball team and played for the University of the Philippines, Diliman Fighting Maroons during his collegiate days. 2007 PBA Fiesta Conference
The 2007 Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Fiesta Conference or known as the 2007 Talk 'N Text PBA Fiesta Conference for sponsorship reasons, is the second conference of the 2006-07 season of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). Teams are allowed to pick an import with a maximum height-limit of 6-feet, 6-inches tall. The tournament began on March 4 and finished on July 20. The schedule will be shortened due to the league's commitment to the Philippine national basketball team while 12 players selected by national team head coach Chot Reyes will not play for their mother teams. The Jun Bernardino Trophy is a trophy awarded to the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) team that wins the PBA Philippine Cup Finals. Previously known as the "Perpetual Trophy", it was created in 2006 and renamed in March 2007 in honor of former PBA commissioner Emilio "Jun" Bernardino, Jr. who served from 1994 to 2002. PBA Philippine Cup
The Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Philippine Cup is a tournament that does not allow teams to hire foreign players or imports. Before 2004–05 season, the tournament was then known as the PBA All-Filipino Cup. It is considered the most prestigious of the three conferences in a PBA season. The San Miguel Beermen are the conference's current defending champions. Since the 2006–07 season, the Jun Bernardino Trophy were awarded to the champions. The trophy is worth PHP 500,000 and is made up of 24-karat gold plate, which the champions can keep for a year. After that, they will receive a smaller replica of the trophy. Moying Martelino
Mauricio "Moying" Martelino (March 21, 1935 – September 22, 2021) was a Filipino sports executive who was involved in bowling, basketball, and volleyball. He was secretary general of the Asian Basketball Confederation from 1991 to 1998. Background Mauricio Martelino was part of the Philippine Bowling Congress in the 1970s as its secretary general. He played bowling himself and was a regular at the old Bowling Inn in Taft Avenue, which was near his residence in Malate. His brother-in-law Gonzalo Puyat II convinced him to move to the Basketball Association of the Philippines (BAP), where Martelino also served as its secretary general. The Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas () or the SBP is the national sport association for basketball in the Philippines, formed from the merging of the Basketball Association of the Philippines (BAP) and Pilipinas Basketball (PB). It was formed in order to fix a long running feud in Philippine Basketball that resulted in FIBA suspending the country from participating in FIBA-sanctioned events. The San Miguel Beermen are a professional basketball team in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). It is one of three PBA clubs owned by the San Miguel Corporation group of companies along with the Magnolia Hotshots and Barangay Ginebra San Miguel. The Tanduay Rhum Makers (1975-1987) and Tanduay Rhum Masters (1999-2001) were two basketball franchises associated with the same liquor brand that played in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). The original franchise, owned by Elizalde & Co., Inc., was a founding member of the PBA. From 1975-1980, the team played under the name Tanduay Distillery; Tanduay ESQ and Tanduay Esquires; then as, YCO-Tanduay in 1981-1983. Eric Menk
Eric Conrad Menk (born August 24, 1974) is a Filipino-American former professional basketball player who played in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) and the Asean Basketball League. Known as Major Pain, Menk is a four-time PBA champion and was the 2004–05 PBA Most Valuable Player. Menk had played for the Barangay Ginebra franchise for twelve seasons before being waived and signed by the San Miguel Beermen of the ASEAN Basketball League.
