Julius Brink
Julius Brink (born 6 July 1982 in Münster) is a beach volleyball player from Germany, who won the gold medal in the men's beach team competition at the 2006 European Beach Volleyball Championships in The Hague, Netherlands, partnering Christoph Dieckmann. He took part at the Olympic Games in 2008. In 2009 he and his current partner Jonas Reckermann won four FIVB competitions (three consecutive Grand Slams) and the German Masters of the CEV European Championship Tour. This includes the 2009 FIVB World Championship, held from 26 June to 5 July in Stavanger, Norway, beating top seeded Harley/Alison in the final and former FIVB world champions and gold medalist of the 2008 Summer Olympics Rogers/ Dalhausser in the semi final. Jonas Reckermann
Jonas Reckermann (born 26 May 1979 in Rheine) is a retired beach volleyball player from Germany. Together with his most recent partner Julius Brink, he won the gold medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, which, along with Laura Ludwig and Kira Walkenhorst are the most successful Olympic appearances of a German beach volleyball team. They were the first European duo to win the Olympic gold medal – male or female competition. Swatch FIVB World Tour
The FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour (known between 2003 and 2012 as the FIVB Beach Volleyball Swatch World Tour for sponsorship reasons) was the worldwide professional beach volleyball tour for both men and women organized by the ' ( FIVB), the sport's global governing body. The World Tour was introduced 1989 for men and in 1992 for women being held yearly since then until 2021. Several tournaments were staged throughout the year. Pedro Solberg Salgado
Pedro Salgado Collett Solberg (born 27 March 1986) is a Brazilian male beach volleyball player. Solberg's mother, Isabel Salgado, herself was a successful beach volleyball player and won in 1994 a FIVB World Tour event in Miami. His sisters Maria Clara Salgado and Carolina Solberg Salgado are also beach volleyball players and they play since 2005. Career Solberg won with three different partners the U18 World Championship in 2002 and U21 in 2003 and 2006 in beach volleyball. Markus Dieckmann (born 7 January 1976 in Bonn) is a retired professional beach volleyball player from Germany, who represented his native country at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece. Philip "Phil" Peter Dalhausser (born January 26, 1980) is a Swiss-born American professional beach volleyball player, playing as a blocker. He and his former playing partner, Todd Rogers, were the 2007 AVP Tour and FIVB world champions. Dalhausser and Rogers dominated both the domestic US tour and now the FIVB international tour winning #1 team honors on both tours in 2010. Dalhausser and Rogers were Olympic gold medalists at the Beijing 2008 Summer Olympics. Todd Jonathan Rogers (born September 30, 1973) is an American professional beach volleyball player who is an Olympic and FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championship gold medalist. He and his former partner, Phil Dalhausser, were the 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011 AVP Tour champions. Beach Volleyball At The 2008 Summer Olympics – Men's Tournament
The men's Olympic beach volleyball tournament at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing took place at the Beach Volleyball Ground at Chaoyang Park from August 9 to August 22. Each of the 24 pairs in the tournament was placed in one of six groups of four teams apiece, and played a round-robin within that pool. The top two teams in each pool advanced to the Round of 16. The six third-place teams were ranked against each other, with ties being broken by the ratio of points won to lost. The best two advanced to the Round of 16, while the other four played two matches (#3 vs. #6 and #4 vs. #5) with the winners of those two matches advancing as well. The losers of those matches, along with the fourth-place teams in each group, were eliminated. The 16 teams that advanced to the elimination rounds played a single-elimination tournament with a bronze medal match between the semifinal losers.
