Julie Præst Wilche
Julie Præst Wilche (born 1971 or 1972) is a Danish civil servant and diplomat. Since 2022, she serves as High Commissioner of Greenland. Biography Wilche trained as a nurse in Denmark before moving to Greenland in the early 1990s. In 2009, she graduated from the University of Greenland with a degree in administrative science. She then worked as a government official in the health department, most recently as acting head of department. In 2015, she was appointed head of department in the Ministry of Social Affairs and Justice. In September 2021, she replaced Minister-appointed Naaja Nathanielsen as Director of the Greenland Correctional Service. The High Commission of Denmark in Greenland ( kl, Kalaallit Nunaanni Naalagaaffiup Sinniisoqarfia, da, Rigsombuddet i Grønland) is a Danish institution in Greenland. Mikaela Engell (born 4 October 1956) is a Danish civil servant who served as High Commissioner of Greenland, a post she has held from 2011 to 2022. She had previously worked in the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, first as a Permanent Secretary and later as a counselor. As High Commissioner, Engell had a seat in the Inatsisartut (parliament of Greenland), representing the Danish monarch and government, and can speak there, but not vote. The University of Greenland ( kl, Ilisimatusarfik Kalaallit Nunaat; da, Grønlands Universitet) is Greenland's only university. It is in the capital city of Nuuk. Naaja Nathanielsen
Naaja Nathanielsen (born 6 December 1975) is a Greenlandic politician of the Inuit Ataqatigiit party. She was a member of the Inatsisartut (the Greenlandic parliament) from 2009 to 2016, and was re-elected in 2021. She has been the director of Greenland's department of prisons and probation from 2016, and became minister for natural resources in 2021. In her role as minister for natural resources, she banned uranium mining. She is a feminist, and has spoken against domestic violence in the country.
