Julie M. Fenster (born November 20, 1957) is an American author of historical articles and books focusing on 19th-century events and persons. Biography She appeared in a TV commercial for Cheapbooks, which aired in early 2008. She is shown at a book signing for her work "Race of the Century." In January 2006, she and co-author Douglas Brinkley released ''Parish Priest'', a biography of Father Michael J. McGivney, the founder of the Knights of Columbus. In 2009, she published a biography of Franklin D. Roosevelt's early political advisor Louis Howe, titled ''FDR's Shadow: Louis Howe, the Force that Shaped Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt''. She is the co-author of Debbie Wasserman Schultz's book ''For the Next Generation: A Wake-Up Call to Solving Our Nation's Problems.'' Douglas Brinkley
Douglas Brinkley (born December 14, 1960) is an American author, Katherine Tsanoff Brown Chair in Humanities, and professor of history at Rice University. Brinkley is the history commentator for CNN, Presidential Historian for the New York Historical Society, and a contributing editor to the magazine ''Vanity Fair''. He is a public spokesperson on conservation issues. He joined the faculty of Rice University as a professor of history in 2007. Early life Brinkley was born in Atlanta, Georgia in 1960, but after his father was transferred to the Toledo, Ohio headquarters of Owens-Illinois in 1969, did his remaining elementary and secondary schooling in Perrysburg, Ohio. A parish is a territorial entity in many Christian denominations, constituting a division within a diocese. A parish is under the pastoral care and clerical jurisdiction of a priest, often termed a parish priest, who might be assisted by one or more curates, and who operates from a parish church. The Knights of Columbus (K of C) is a global Catholic fraternal service order founded by Michael J. McGivney on March 29, 1882. Membership is limited to practicing Catholic men. It is led by Patrick E. Kelly, the order's 14th Supreme Knight. The organization was founded in March 1882 as a mutual benefit society for working-class and immigrant Catholics in the United States. Louis Howe
Louis McHenry Howe (January 14, 1871 – April 18, 1936) was an American reporter for the ''New York Herald'' best known for acting as an early political advisor to President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Born to a wealthy family in Indianapolis, Indiana, Howe was a small, sickly, and asthmatic child. The family moved to Saratoga Springs, New York, after serious financial losses. Howe married Grace Hartley and became a journalist with a small paper that his father purchased. He spent the next decade freelancing for the ''New York Herald'' and working various jobs. Howe was then assigned to cover the New York state legislature in 1906, and soon became a political operative for Thomas Mott Osborne, a Democratic opponent of the Tammany Hall political machine.
