Vendsyssel Håndbold was a handball club from Frederikshavn, Denmark. Vendssysel Håndbold competed in the women's Danish 1st Division, until February 2022. The home arena of the club was DRINX Arena in a small town, outside of Sæby, called Syvsten. It was announced in February 2022, that the club had filed for bankruptcy and the players contracts would be dissolved. The team's placement and points in the Danish 1st Division would also be canceled. The club's licence was thus handed over to the parent club Frederikshavn FI, which was also relegated to the 3rd division in the 2022/23 season. Denmark Women's National Handball Team
The Denmark women's national handball team is the national team of Denmark. It is governed by the Dansk Håndbold Forbund (DHF). In 1997, it became the first Women's Handball team to hold all three major titles simultaneously (The World Championship, The Olympic Championship and The European Championship). Denmark women's handball team is the only team (women's and men's) in handball history to win the Olympic Games three consecutive times, earning the gold medal in 1996, 2000, and 2004. Despite tremendous results, the Danish handball team has seen a steady decline. As of 2021, the team has not won a gold medal since the Olympic Games 2004. The European Handball Federation (EHF) is the umbrella organisation for European handball. Founded on 17 November 1991, it is made of 50 member federations and two associated federations (England and Scotland), and is headquartered in Vienna, Austria. The 2020 European Women's Handball Championship was held from 3 to 20 December 2020. The games were played in Herning and Kolding, Denmark.
