Juliane Banse
Juliane Banse (born 10 July 1969 in Tettnang, Germany) is a German opera soprano and noted singer. Banse received her vocal training at the Zürich Opera, and with Brigitte Fassbaender in Munich. She won first prize in the singing competition of the Kulturforum in Munich in 1989. She made her operatic debut that year as Pamina in Mozart's ''The Magic Flute'' at the Komische Oper Berlin. In 1993, the International Franz Schubert Institute, whose jury that year included Elisabeth Schwarzkopf and Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, awarded her first prize in the International Franz Schubert Competition. Banse created the role of Schneewittchen in Heinz Holliger's 1998 opera ''Schneewittchen'' at the Zürich Opera House. In 2005, she gave the world premiere of J.S. Bach's recently-discovered aria, "Alles mit Gott und nichts ohn' ihn, BWV 1127", with András Schiff and Quatuor Mosaïques. Alles Mit Gott Und Nichts Ohn' Ihn, BWV 1127
"Alles mit Gott und nichts ohn' ihn" (Everything with God and nothing without him), BWV 1127, is Johann Sebastian Bach's October 1713 setting of a poem in 12 stanzas by , Superintendent of Buttstädt, a town in the Duchy of Saxe-Weimar. The poem is an acrostic dedicated to Duke Wilhelm Ernst of Saxe-Weimar, on his birthday (30 October). Bach, at the time employed as court organist by the Duke, set Mylius's ode as an aria in strophic form, that is a melody for soprano accompanied by continuo for the stanzas, alternated with a ritornello for strings and continuo. When all stanzas are sung, a performance of the work takes around 45 to 50 minutes. The work was likely first performed on the Duke's birthday.. The Robert Schumann Hochschule (Robert Schumann University of Music and Media) is a school for music studies at the university level located in Düsseldorf. The University has a student body of some 850 coming from over 40 countries. Forty-seven full-time and part-time faculty and 200 associate professors (People) provide individualized instruction. (''All Women Do It, or The School for Lovers''), K. 588, is an opera buffa in two acts by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. It was first performed on 26 January 1790 at the Burgtheater in Vienna, Austria. The libretto was written by Lorenzo Da Ponte who also wrote ''Le nozze di Figaro'' and ''Don Giovanni''. Although it is commonly held that was written and composed at the suggestion of the Emperor Joseph II, recent research does not support this idea. There is evidence that Mozart's contemporary Antonio Salieri tried to set the libretto but left it unfinished. In 1994, John Rice uncovered two terzetti by Salieri in the Austrian National Library. The short title, ''Così fan tutte'', literally means "So do they all", using the feminine plural (''tutte'') to indicate women. It is usually translated into English as "Women are like that". Genia Kühmeier (born 1975) is an Austrian operatic soprano who has appeared internationally in opera and concert. She made her debut at the Vienna State Opera as Pamina in Mozart's ''The Magic Flute, Die Zauberflöte'' in 2003, and sang the role also at the Salzburg Festival and the Metropolitan Opera. Career Born in Salzburg, Kühmeier grew up in Grödig. She attended elementary school, an economics grammar school and an educational institution for kindergarten teachers in Salzburg. She dropped out of that school in 1993 in order to study singing teaching at the Mozarteum University Salzburg, Mozarteum until 1997, when she moved to the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna to study solo singing. Richard Strauss
Richard Georg Strauss (; 11 June 1864 – 8 September 1949) was a German composer, conductor, pianist, and violinist.
