Juliana Cardoso
Juliana Cardoso is a Brazilian labor activist and São Paulo city councilor for the Brazilian Workers' Party. For a time she was the only woman representing the Workers' Party to the São Paulo city council. Early life Cardoso was born on the outskirts of the East Zone of the city of São Paulo ( pt) in a family with Indigenous ancestry. Her first experiences of activism were as a volunteer with Basic ecclesial communities and the Catholic youth ministry ( pt) there. Before working on politics fulltime, she was an official with the São Paulo tourism board, where she specialised in work related to young people and the Carnival of São Paulo. Career Cardoso was elected a city councilor for the first time in 2008, and she was re-elected in 2012 and then in 2016. For several of these years, Cardoso was the only woman representing the Workers' Party to the Brazilian city council. A woman is an adult female human. Prior to adulthood, a female human is referred to as a girl (a female child or adolescent). Heleieth Iara Bongiovani Saffioti (January 4, 1934 – December 13, 2010) was a Brazilian sociologist, teacher, and feminist activist. Life Saffioti was the daughter of a seamstress and a mason. She was born in Ibirá in 1934 in the state of São Paulo. She graduated with a degree in Social Sciences from the Faculty of Philosophy, Sciences, and Letters of the University of São Paulo (USP) in 1960. In the same year, she began her first academic research on women's condition in Brazil, a theme that would be the object of her thesis for the Faculty of Philosophy, Sciences and Letters of Araraquara, the São Paulo State University (UNESP), entitled ''A mulher na sociedade de classe: mito e realidade'' (Woman in class society: myth and reality), under Professor Florestan Fernandes, which Saffioti defended in 1967 and was published in 1976. Sâmia de Souza Bomfim (born 22 August 1989) is a Brazilian politician. She has spent her political career representing São Paulo, having served as federal deputy representative since 2019. Personal life Prior to entering politics Bomfim worked as a civil servant. She identifies as a feminist. She cites her inspirations as fellow PSOL politicians and activists Marielle Franco and Jean Wyllys. She is also inspired by her close friend Vinicius Luz.
