Julia Wong Pei Xian (, born 12 September 1987) is a badminton player from Malaysia. Career Wong was a champion of the women' singles event at the national championships in 2005, 2007 and 2008, also in the doubles event in 2006. In 2006, she won the women's singles title in Sri Lanka Satellite tournament. Wong played the 2007 BWF World Championships in women's singles, and was defeated in the second round by Maria Kristin Yulianti, of Indonesia, 16-21, 21-14, 21-18. In 2008, she played at the Macau Open Badminton Championships in women's singles, and cruised to the final against Zhou Mi but she lost to her 21-13, 21-19. Maria Kristin Yulianti (born 25 June 1985) is an Indonesian badminton player. She is a bronze medalist in Badminton at the 2008 Summer Olympics – Women's singles, women's singles at the 2008 Olympics. Career 2004 Yulianti played in some satellite competitions and won the Malaysia International, Malaysian tournament. 2005 Yulianti played in more satellite tournaments and won three: the Indonesia International, Surabaya, Jakarta, and the Singapore International, Cheers Asian satellite tournaments. 2006 Yulianti started to play tougher competitions but still played in satellite tournaments. The India Open is an annual badminton event which has been held in India since 2008 and is a BWF World Tour Super 750 international badminton tournament. Its first three editions were designated as Grand Prix Gold events. In 2011, it was upgraded to the BWF Superseries tournament. Since then until 2019, it was held annually at the Siri Fort Sports Complex, New Delhi. Yip Pui Yin (; born 6 August 1987) is a badminton player from Hong Kong. Career Yip played at the 2005 World Badminton Championships in Anaheim. In the women's singles event she reached the third round after beating Laura Molina of Spain and Kanako Yonekura (11th seed) in round one and round two respectively. In the third round she was beaten by the 1st seed and reigning world champion Zhang Ning of China. She won the silver medal in the 2006 Asian Games after losing to fellow Hong Kong player Wang Chen in the final. Wang Lin (badminton)
Wang Lin (born March 30, 1989 in Hangzhou) is a badminton player from China. Wang Lin was crowned the world champion after winning the gold medal at the 2010 BWF World Championships held at Paris defeating fellow Chinese Wang Xin 21–11, 19–21, 21–13. In 2006, the 17-year-old, Wang Lin beat Xie Xingfang in the final of the China Masters Super Series. Shortly after her World Championship triumph in Paris, Wang Lin suffered a severe knee ligament tear during her match against Maria Febe Kusumastuti in China Masters Super Series tournament. The injury was so severe to the extent it ruled out Wang Lin completely from playing for almost six months after her knee operation. Zhou Mi (; born 18 February 1979) is a Chinese badminton player. During much of her career she represented the People's Republic of China, but since 2007 she has represented Hong Kong which has a sports program and teams independent from those of the mainland. In 2010, she received a 2-year ban, for failing a drugs test. Career Since 1998 Zhou has won more than twenty international singles titles on the world circuit and has achieved number one world rankings at various times.
