Julia Clair (born 20 March 1994) is a French ski jumping, ski jumper. She was born in Saint-Dié-des-Vosges, and represents the club SC Xonrupt. Her junior career includes a silver medal at the 2013 Junior World Championships in Erzurum, and a bronze medal at the 2014 Junior World Championships in Val di Fiemme. She competed at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, in the Ski jumping at the 2014 Winter Olympics – Women's normal hill individual, ladies normal hill. Ski jumping is a winter sport in which competitors aim to achieve the farthest jump after sliding down on their skis from a specially designed curved ramp. Along with jump length, competitor's aerial style and other factors also affect the final score. Ski jumping was first contested in Norway in the late 19th century, and later spread through Europe and North America in the early 20th century.
