Jules Paul Mabille
Paul Mabille (1835 – 6 April 1923) was a French naturalist mainly interested in Lepidoptera and botany. Mabille was born in 1835 in Tours, France. He was a member and President (1876–1877) of the Société entomologique de France and a member of the Société entomologique de Belgique. His Madagascar collections, once in the Charles Oberthur collection, are now in the Natural History Museum, London. He wrote many papers on Neotropical Hesperiidae with Eugène Boullet. Mabille died in April 1923 in Perreux, Loire. Jules François Mabille
Jules François Mabille (Tours, 5 December 1831 − 18 January 1904) was a French malacologist, biologist and zoologist who in many trips around the world discovered and studied many species of mollusc. In 1882−83 Mabille participated in the French scientific expedition to Cape Horn and the South Seas, with his fellow malacologist Alphonse Trémeau de Rochebrune Alphonse Amédée Trémeau de Rochebrune was a French botanist, malacologist and a zoologist. Hesperiidae
Skippers are a family of the Lepidoptera (moths and butterflies) named the Hesperiidae. Being diurnal, they are generally called butterflies. They were previously placed in a separate superfamily, Hesperioidea; however, the most recent taxonomy places the family in the superfamily Papilionoidea, the butterflies. They are named for their quick, darting flight habits. Most have their antenna tips modified into narrow, hook-like projections. Moreover, skippers mostly have an absence of wing-coupling structure available in most moths. Eugène Anatole Auguste Victor Boullet (1 July 1847, in Acheux – 1923) was a French naturalist, entomologist and collector. With Jules Paul Mabille he described many new species of Neotropical Hesperiidae. He also wrote ''Catalogue de la collection de Lépidoptères du Muséum national d'histoire naturelle de Paris''. Physically, it includes the tropical terrestrial ecoregions of the Americas and the entire South American temperate zone.
