Jules Heningburg
Jules Nehemiah Heningburg (born May 3, 1996) is an American professional lacrosse player on the Redwoods Lacrosse Club of the Premier Lacrosse League and Albany FireWolves of the National Lacrosse League. He played college lacrosse at Rutgers University where he was a two-time All-Big Ten selection and All-American (2018 Second Team, 2017 Honorable Mention). Heningburg was selected 7th overall in the first round of the 2018 Major League Lacrosse Draft by the Florida Launch. Early life and college Heningburg grew up in Maplewood, New Jersey as the fifth of six children of a Black father, Gus Heningburg Jr., and a white mother, Maria Morrison Heningburg. His grandfather, Gus Sr., was a civil rights activist, while his grandmother, Jean, was the first Black teacher at Montclair High School. Field Lacrosse
Field lacrosse is a full contact sport, full contact outdoor men's sport played with ten players on each team. The sport originated among indigenous peoples of the Americas, Native Americans, and the modern rules of field lacrosse were initially codified by Canadian William George Beers in 1867. Field lacrosse is one of three major versions of lacrosse played internationally. The rules of men's lacrosse differ significantly from Women's lacrosse, women's field lacrosse (established in the 1890s). The two are often considered to be different sports with a common root. Another version, box lacrosse (originated in the 1930s) is also played under different rules. Waterdogs Lacrosse Club
The Waterdogs Lacrosse Club is a professional men's field lacrosse team in the Premier Lacrosse League (PLL). The Waterdogs are the first PLL expansion team set to play in the 2020 season. Players were selected through an expansion draft, new entry draft, and the college draft over the first few months of 2020. Andy Copelan was announced as the Club's first head coach on January 2, 2020. Owners of the club include ''Pardon My Take'' hosts, Barstool Big Cat & PFT Commenter. New England Black Wolves
The New England Black Wolves were a professional box lacrosse team based in Uncasville, Connecticut. They were members of the East Division of the National Lacrosse League and began play in the winter of 2014–2015 at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville. The team was partially owned by the Mohegan Tribe of Indians of Connecticut, partially owned by Ted Goldthorpe, and partially owned by Brad Brewster. The Black Wolves relocated from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where they were known as the Philadelphia Wings from 1987 to 2014 and won 6 championships.
