Western Area Rural District
The Western Area Rural District is one of the sixteen districts of Sierra Leone. It is located mostly around the peninsula in the Western Area of Sierra Leone. The Western Area Rural District has a 2015 census population of 442,951. The district capital and largest city is Waterloo. Other major towns in the district include Newton, Benguema, Leicester, Tombo and Regent. Most of the towns and villages in the Western area rural District are close to the capital Freetown; and are part of the Freetown Metropolitan Area. The Western Area Rural District is bordered by the country's capital Freetown to the east and west; Port Loko District to the north; and the Atlantic Ocean to the south and east. China-Sierra Leone Friendship Hospital
The China-Sierra Leone Friendship Hospital (Chinese: 塞拉利昂 - 中国友好醫院) is a modern hospital located in Jui, Sierra Leone, a town not far outside the capital of Freetown. It has 100 beds and is managed jointly by Sierra Leonean Ministry of Health and the Shandong Qushan Hospital, but is also 'twin hospitals' with Xiangya Hospital. It has departments for gynecology, surgery, ophthalmology, ear, nose, and throat, an ICU, and a mortuary. The hospital is built over an area of 7,738 square meters. It also treated patients in the Western African Ebola virus epidemic. Construction and completion The hospital was financed by the Chinese and Leoneans, and had support from UNICEF.
