Jugni (film)
''Jugni'' (2011) is a Pakistani Punjabi film, first named ''Jugni Nachdi Aye'', later changed to name ''Jugni'', is directed by Syed Noor. The film brought folk singer Arif Lohar back on the silver screen after eleven years. It also stars Saima, Shaan Shahid and Moammar Rana. Story The movie revolves around three men who fall in love with the same woman, Jugni ( Saima). Rana and Shaan's characters are friends who are competing for Jugni's love. Music The music was composed by M Arshad and has been a huge hit in Pakistan, specially in the Punjabi circuit. The title song, "Jugni," which has been released online, was recorded at the studio of Noor's Paragon Academy of Performing Arts (Papa). There are four other item songs sung by Arif Lohar including his Coke Studio hit "Alif Allah (Jugni)". Singers include Arif Lohar, Nooran Lal and Meesha Shafi. Syed Noor (Punjabi language, Punjabi, ur, ) (born Syed Ghulam Mohyuddin Noor) is a Pakistani film director based in Lahore. In 1970 Syed Noor joined the Pakistani film industry as an assistant to director S. Suleman. Noor assisted S. Suleman for 18 feature films, after which, he penned his first script for the film, "Society Girl" in 1976, which was considered the best film of the year. After the success of his first film, Noor became the prime screenwriting talent in the Pakistani film industry and worked with all the prominent directors of the time. Syed Noor wrote about 250 films from 1976 to 1992. His written scripts and screenplays were both in Urdu and in Punjabi. Saima Noor
Saima Noor is a Pakistani actress who appears in Pakistani films and television dramas. He is known for his various Lollywood movie credits, and has also worked on the small screen in Pakistani soap operas and Television Serials. Alif Allah (Jugni) ( pa, ), also known as Alif Allah Chambe Di Booti ( pa, ) is a popular Punjabi Sufi song that was composed and sung by Arif Lohar and Meesha Shafi in Coke Studio Pakistan. The lyrics of the song were based on the works of 17th century Sufi poet Sultan Bahu. It is an adaptation of Punjabi folk "Jugni" in a Sufi version.
