Jugenheim
Seeheim-Jugenheim is a municipality in the Darmstadt-Dieburg district in Hesse, Germany. It has a population of approximately 17,000. Seeheim-Jugenheim consists of seven villages: *Balkhausen (population 693) *Jugenheim (population 4,448) *Malchen (population 1,004) *Ober-Beerbach (population 1,269) *Seeheim (population 9,060) *Steigerts (population 81) *Stettbach (population 144) The municipality was formed on January 1, 1977 through the unification of the previously separate municipalities of Seeheim and Jugenheim. Until January 1, 1978 the municipality was known as Seeheim; after that it became known as Seeheim-Jugenheim. It is known for its mountain bike trails to the nearby mountain Melibokus. Seeheim-Jugenheim has been home to several notable residents throughout history, including Tsar Nicholas II of Russia as well as writers Georg Kaiser and Helene Christaller. The State International School Seeheim, also called SISS is the international branch of the ''Schuldorf Bergstraße''. It is made up of a primary and a secondary branch as well as a pre-school. The school represents a pilot project in Germany - a public school where the language of instruction is primarily English. The school is a community of people from different parts of the world and has strived to be internationally profound. Georg-Christof Bertsch
Georg-Christof Bertsch (born 30 May 1959 in Seeheim-Jugenheim) is a German corporate identity and organizational behavior consultant (Systemische Organisationsberatung according to SW&F). Background Georg-Christof Bertsch is the third son to Robert Bertsch (1922-1997), principal of a special education grammar school, and Anny Bertsch, née Herling (1916-2009). Beginning in the early 70s, Robert and Anny were initiating leaders in the reconciliation between their hometown and France (Villenave-d'Ornon), the UK (Chesterfield) and Israel, helping to establish a sister city or community relations in these three countries. In 1988, Robert Bertsch published "Juden in Seeheim und Jugenheim", the first historical account of Jewish life in Seeheim-Jugenheim, Germany. Balkhausen
Balkhausen is a village of 693 inhabitants forming part of the municipality Seeheim-Jugenheim, Darmstadt-Dieburg district in Hesse, Germany. Geography Balkhausen lies in the Vorderer Odenwald in South Hesse in the valley between the Melibokus - massif in the west and the Felsberg (Odenwald) - massif in the east. The district includes the source area of the '' Quaddelbach (Landbach)'' (partly also called ''Quattelbach''), which leads in northern direction down the valley to Seeheim-Jugenheim, where it unites with the ''Stettbach'' to the ''Landbach''. The southern boundary follows the ridge that connects the two mountain massifs with a saddle height of about 285 meters. Uwe Scholz
Uwe Scholz (31 December 1958 – 21 November 2004) was a German ballet dancer, director, and choreographer. Life Scholz was born in Jugenheim (now Seeheim-Jugenheim) in Hesse, Germany on 31 December 1958, and moved as a child to the Landestheater Darmstadt for ballet and music training. In 1973, he was admitted to John Cranko's Ballet School in Stuttgart, one month before Cranko's death, and studied under Marcia Haydée. Scholz also studied, on scholarship, at Balanchine's School of American Ballet in New York. He graduated from Stuttgart in 1977, and joined the Stuttgart Ballet. At 26 he became the director of the Zürich Ballet, and directed there for the next 6 years, before returning to Germany to become director of the Leipzig Ballet, where he was also chief choreographer. He remained in Leipzig from 1991 until his death. Christian Alvart
Christian Alvart (born 28 May 1974 in Jugenheim) is a German filmmaker and screenwriter. Prior to working in the film business Christian Alvart worked in various positions, most recently as a senior editor at Filmmagzin X-TRO. In 1999, he made his debut as a film director with the thriller '' Curiosity & the Cat'', for which he also wrote the screenplay. His next film was the thriller ''Antibodies''. Alvart's first English-language film was ''Case 39'', followed by ''Pandorum''. In March 2010, it was announced that Christian Alvart secured the film rights for Captain Future and is working on a live-action adaptation in 3D.
