Judy Valentine
Judy Valentine (May 15, 1923 – August 26, 2022) was an American singer and children's television actress. Life and career The daughter of Robert and Lena Baker, Judy began performing while still a teenager and a student at Lowell High School, singing professionally in local Boston-area nightclubs. At age 22, in 1945, Valentine married songwriter and disc-jockey Sherm Feller; she had been a performer on his radio program, and he subsequently assumed an active role in promoting her career. Their marriage ultimately ended in divorce, and Judy remarried, circa 1961. Her second husband, Leonard Berkal, died in 2010. Valentine's recordings of the 1940s and 1950s, delivered in her characteristic childlike soprano, include "She Was Five and He Was Ten," "I'm a Little Teapot", and "Kiss Me Sweet". It identified the switching system to which a telephone was connected, and facilitated the connection of telephone calls between switching systems in different localities. ABC Records was an American record label founded in New York City in 1955. It originated as the main popular music label operated by the Am-Par Record Corporation. Am-Par also created the Impulse! jazz label in 1960. It acquired many labels before ABC was sold to MCA Records in 1979. Hugo Winterhalter
Hugo Winterhalter (August 15, 1909 – September 17, 1973) was an American easy listening arranger and composer, best known for his arrangements and recordings for RCA Victor. Biography Hugo Ferdinand Winterhalter was born in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania on August 15, 1909 to Hugo Winterhalter and Mary Gallagher, both second generation German-Americans. He graduated from Mount St. Mary's in Emmitsburg, Maryland in 1931, where he played saxophone for the orchestra and sang in two of the choirs. He later studied violin and reed instruments at the New England Conservatory of Music. After graduating, he taught school for several years before turning professional during the mid-1930s, serving as a sideman and arranger for Count Basie, Tommy Dorsey, Raymond Scott, Claude Thornhill and others. MGM Records
MGM Records was a record label founded by the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer film studio in 1946 for the purpose of releasing soundtrack recordings (later LP albums) of their musical films. It transitioned into a pop music label that continued into the 1970s.
