Judith Margolis
Judith Margolis (born September 24, 1944) is an Israel-based American artist working visually in paintings, drawings, artist's books and multi-media collages. In her art and writing she "explores tensions between consciousness, feminism, and religious ritual tradition". Early life Margolis was born into a Jewish family and Yiddish-speaking community in the Bronx, NY. In 1948 her family moved to suburban New Jersey, from which the adolescent Margolis would adventure to New York City for her early artistic education. Early artistic training Margolis began her artistic training during high school at age 15 with a drawing class at The Art Students League, then attended Cooper Union, where she met her first husband Albie Tabackman. The two traveled across the United States to California, where they lived at Magic Forest Farm in Oregon. Adam Leipzig is the CEO of Entertainment Media Partners, an American film and theatre producer and executive, as well as an author. As a former Disney executive, he supervised such films as Dead poets society, Dead Poets Society (1989) and Honey, I Shrunk the Kids (1989). He went on to produce such films as Titus (movie), Titus (1999), The Way Back (2010 film), The Way Back (2010) and ''A Plastic Ocean'' (2016). Janet Braun-Reinitz
Janet Braun-Reinitz is a muralist, painter and activist committed to social justice. Her ongoing involvement in civil rights activism began in 1961 when she was a Freedom Rider. During one incident in Little Rock, Arkansas, she was arrested and was jailed from July 8 to 15. She subsequently worked at the national office of CORE and was the head of the CORE chapter in Rochester, NY in 1962-3. She is the subject of the documentary, ''Interview with Janet Braun-Reinitz for the Freedom Riders 40th Anniversary Oral History Project, 2001'', published by the University of Mississippi, excerpts are included in the film, ''The Children Shall Lead'' (2001). In 1983, she co-founded ''Tasteful Ladies for Peace'' of Ithaca, New York. This organization was involved in peaceful protests promoting reproductive choice and protesting against the proliferation of nuclear weapons. Meredith Tax
Meredith Jane Tax (September 18, 1942 – September 25, 2022) was an American feminist writer and political activist. Early life Tax was born on September 18, 1942, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the daughter of Archie Tax, a physician, and Martha Brazy Tax. She attended Whitefish Bay High School in Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin, in 1960. In 1961, she represented Brandeis on ''College Bowl''. She was a National Merit Scholar and was in the twelfth graduating class of Brandeis University in 1964. She spent the next four years at Birkbeck College, University of London, on Fulbright and Woodrow Wilson fellowships. Career Despite her "dreams of a gilded career in the arts", Tax gave up the idea of an academic career in favor of movement work and became a writer and an activist.
