Judith Bunting
Judith Ann Bunting (born 27 November 1960) is a television producer and politician who served as a Liberal Democrat Member of the European Parliament (MEP) for the South East England from 2019 to 2020. In 2014, she was chosen by the Royal Society of Chemistry to be one of their 175 Faces of Chemistry. Education Bunting attended Peterborough County Grammar School for Girls, then Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge, where she obtained a Master's Degree in Natural Sciences (Chemistry) in 1979. Her father taught Mechanical Engineering at Peterborough Regional College. Career Television Bunting has been a producer of educational and science-based documentary television since the 1990s. Her early producing credits include the BBC series ''Tomorrow's World'', ''Teen Species'', ''Horizon'' and Robert Winstons ''The Secret Life of Twins'' and ''Superhuman''. It elected 10 Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) using the D'Hondt method of party-list proportional representation until the UK exit from the European Union on 31 January 2020. Newbury is a market town in the county of Berkshire, England, and is home to the administrative headquarters of West Berkshire Council. The Committee on Industry, Research and Energy (ITRE) is a committee of the European Parliament. Its areas of responsibility relate to industry, especially technology-intensive manufacturing, information technology, and telecommunications. Richard Benyon
Richard Henry Ronald Benyon, Baron Benyon (born 21 October 1960) is a British politician who has served as Minister of State for Biosecurity, Marine and Rural Affairs since 2022. A member of the Conservative Party, he was Member of Parliament (MP) for Newbury from 2005 to 2019. Benyon studied at the Royal Agricultural College and Royal Military Academy Sandhurst before serving in the British Army, being posted to Northern Ireland and the Far East with the Royal Green Jackets. Newbury is a constituency represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament from 2019 by Laura Farris, a Conservative. It was created by the Redistribution of Seats Act 1885 and has been in continual existence since then. 2015 United Kingdom General Election
The 2015 United Kingdom general election was held on Thursday, 7 May 2015 to elect 650 members to the House of Commons. It was the first and only general election held at the end of a Parliament under the Fixed-term Parliaments Act 2011. Local elections took place in most areas on the same day. Polls and commentators had predicted the outcome would be too close to call and would result in a second consecutive hung parliament whose composition would be either similar to or more complicated than the 2010 general election.
