Juan Hormaechea
Juan Hormaechea Cazón (5 June 1939 – 1 December 2020) was a Spanish politician who served as President of Cantabria between 1987 and 1990, and again from 1991 to 1995. He was also Mayor of Santander between 1977 and 1987. Hormaechea founded the Union for the Progress of Cantabria (UPCA) political party in 1991 after a split from the larger People's Party of Cantabria (PP). The UPCA dissolved in 2003. On 24 October 1994 the High Court of Justice of Cantabria condemned him to 6 years and one day in prison and 14 years of disqualification for a crime of embezzlement and another of prevarication. The President of Cantabria, according to the Autonomy Statute of Cantabria, presides over the Government of Cantabria, directs its activities, coordinates the Administration of the autonomous community, designates and separates the regional ministers, and holds the supreme representation of the autonomous community and ordinary representation of the State in Cantabria. High Court Of Justice Of Cantabria
The High Court of Justice of Cantabria (TSJC), is the highest court of the Spanish judiciary in the Autonomous Community of Cantabria. Established pursuant to Title VIII of the Spanish Constitution, it has original jurisdiction over cases against high-ranking officials of the autonomous community and appellate jurisdiction over all cases. The TSJC decisions may be appealed to the Supreme Court. It also has entrusted the resolution of conflicts of competence between courts in Cantabria. Felipe González Márquez (; born 5 March 1942) is a Spanish lawyer, professor, and politician, who was the Secretary-General of the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE) from 1974 to 1997, and the 3rd Prime Minister of Spain since the restoration of democracy, from 1982 to 1996. He remains the longest-serving Prime Minister of Spain to be freely elected. González joined the PSOE in 1964, when it was banned under the Francoist regime. He obtained a law degree from the University of Seville in 1965. In 1974, the PSOE elected González as its Secretary-General after a split in its 26th Congress.
