Juan Clímaco
Juan Faller Clímaco (December 24, 1859 – July 16, 1907) was the second governor of Cebu, Philippines, the first governor to be elected to the position, and a Cebu revolutionary during the Philippine-American war. Early years Juan Clímaco was born to a wealthy family in Toledo, Cebu, Philippines on December 24, 1859. He was married to Maria Regina Ramas. Before the Philippine revolution against the Spaniards, he served as ''gobernadorcillo'' of Toledo and was popularly called "Tan Hantoy" ("Tan" as short for ''kapitan'' or captain). He wrote the monograph of the municipality of Toledo for the Philippine Exposition that opened in Madrid on April 1, 1887, which was described as subversive and counterproductive to the intentions of the exposition. Samar ( ) is the third-largest and seventh-most populous island in the Philippines, with a total population of 1,909,537 as of the 2020 census. Visayans (Visayan: ''mga Bisaya''; ) or Visayan people are a Philippine ethnolinguistic group or metaethnicity native to the Visayas, the southernmost islands of Luzon and a significant portion of Mindanao. When taken as a single ethnic group, they are both the most numerous in the entire country at around 33.5 million, as well as the most geographically widespread. Cebuano People
The Cebuano people ( ceb, Mga Sugbuanon) are the largest subgroup of the larger ethnolingustic group Visayans, who constitute the largest Filipino ethnolinguistic group in the country. Their primary language is the Cebuano language, an Austronesian language. They originated in the province of Cebu in the region of Central Visayas, but then later spread out to other places in the Philippines, such as Siquijor, Bohol, Negros Oriental, southwestern Leyte, western Samar, Masbate, and large parts of Mindanao. It may also refer to the ethnic group who speak the same language as their native tongue in different parts of the archipelago. Talisay, Cebu
Talisay, officially the City of Talisay ( ceb, Dakbayan sa Talisay; fil, Lungsod ng Talisay), is a 3rd class component city in the province of Cebu, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 263,048 people. The name of Talisay is taken from the talisay tree which is abundant in the city.
