Joychandi Pahar Railway Station
Joychandi Pahar Junction railway station (station code: JOC) serves Adra town and Raghunathpur in Purulia district in the Indian state of West Bengal. It was named after the hill called Joychandi Pahar which is located between these two towns. Joychandipahar rail station is situated on the Asansol–Purulia–Sini main line section. In the year of 2014 it was redeveloped and made as an alternative station of Adra Junction to decongest Adra station from a huge passenger and freight traffic. History The Bengal Nagpur Railway was formed in 1887 for the purpose of upgrading the Nagpur Chhattisgarh Railway and then extending it via Bilaspur to , in order to develop a shorter Howrah–Mumbai route than the one via Allahabad. Joychandi Pahar
Joychandi Pahar is a hill which is a popular tourist attraction in the Indian state of West Bengal in Purulia district. It is two kilometres from the subdivisional town of Raghunathpur and four kilometres from Adra town. The hill is situated 2 kilometers south from Purulia – Barakar road via Nanduara village and 1 kilometer west from Raghunathpur-Adra Road via a growing township known as Annapurna pally. It is also just four kilometres away from Adra Junction railway station and 1.5 kilometres from Joychandipahar railway station, which is situated on Adra-Asansol section. Joychandi hill is a popular tourist centre and major attraction for rock climbing. Adra railway division is one of the four railway divisions under South Eastern Railway zone of Indian Railways. This railway division was formed on 14 April 1961 and its headquarter is located at Adra town in Purulia district in the state of West Bengal of India. Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury
Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury (born 2 April 1956) is an Indian politician serving as the leader of the Indian National Congress in the 17th Lok Sabha and the Member of Parliament from Berhampore. He is also the current president of West Bengal Pradesh Congress Committee following the demise of Somendra Nath Mitra. Personal life Chowdhury was born on 2 April 1956 to Niranjan and Saroja Bala Chowdhury at Berhampore in Murshidabad district, West Bengal. He studied at I.C. Institute in Berhampore. Chowdhury married Arpita Chowdhury on 15 September 1987. They had a daughter, Shreyashi, who died in October 2006. On 9 January 2019, Arpita died. He later married Atashi C Chowdhury. Nagpur Chhattisgarh Railway was a line owned by the provincial government and operated by the state railways. The line ran from Nagpur via Tumsar - Gondia and Dongargarh to Rajnandgaon.
