Joycelyn Tetteh
Joycelyn Tetteh (born 10 January 1988) is a Member of Parliament of the National Democratic Congress party for the North Dayi Constituency. She is one of th36 female parliamentarianof the seventh parliament of the fourth republic of Ghana. Jocelyn is also currently the ambassador for human trafficking in Ghana. Early life and education Tetteh was born in Tsyome-Sabadu, Volta Region. She studied Law and BEd in Management Studies at the University of Cape Coast. Politics In 2016, she contested and won the NDC parliamentary seat for the North Dayi Constituency in the Volta Region. 2016 election Tetteh first contested the North Day constituency parliamentary seat on the ticket of National Democratic Congress during the 2016 Ghanian general election and won the election with 12, 948 votes representing 78.53% of the total votes. A woman is an adult female human. Prior to adulthood, a female human is referred to as a girl (a female child or adolescent). 2020 Ghanaian General Election
General elections were held in Ghana on 7 December 2020. Incumbent President Nana Akufo-Addo of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) was re-elected in the first round after securing a majority of the votes. Former President John Dramani Mahama says he will contest the results. The NPP lost its majority in the parliament, winning just as many seats as the opposition NDC, resulting in a hung parliament with a single independent (Andrew Asiamah Amoako) in the position of kingmaker. Electoral system The President of Ghana is elected using the two-round system, whilst the 275 members of Parliament are elected in single-member constituencies using first-past-the-post voting. Eligible voters must be Ghanaian citizens who are at least 18 years old, although those declared insane are disenfranchised. Convention People's Party
The Convention People's Party (CPP) is a Socialism, socialist political party in Ghana based on the ideas of the first President of Ghana, Kwame Nkrumah. The CPP was formed in June 1949 after Nkrumah broke away from the United Gold Coast Convention (UGCC). Nkrumah was the then appointed Secretaty General of the UGCC when he was arrested by the leader of the UGCC and imprisoned for an alleged thought, plans and power against Kwame Nkrumah's leadership. Kwame Nkrumah then formed the Convention People's Party with support of some UGCC members and had a purpose for self governance. Upon Kwame Nkrumah's leadership with the CPP, he orgranized a non violent protest and strike for support of the purpose for self-governance which took him to imprisonment for a second time, but he was released after winning a massive vote by the CPP following the colonies election general election whilst he was in prison. Nana Akufo-Addo
Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo ( ; born 29 March 1944) is a Ghanaian politician who has served as the president of Ghana since 7 January 2017. In 2020, he was re-elected for his second term, which will end on 6 January 2025. Akufo-Addo previously served as Attorney General from 2001 to 2003 and as Minister for Foreign Affairs from 2003 to 2007 under the Kufuor-led administration.
