Joyce Cuoco
Joyce Cuoco is a former American ballerina. She came to great acclaim at a young age, particularly for her ability to sustain long balances and her multiple pirouettes. Cuoco's early training was with Harriet Hoctor and Boston Ballet founder, E. Virginia Williams. She quickly rose to great popular success as a "baby ballerina". She appeared on ''The Ed Sullivan Show'' and '' The Danny Kaye Show'' in 1966, and later headlined at Radio City Music Hall. In every appearance she would charm the audience with her smile and her astonishing dancing. Cuoco later became a soloist with the John Cranko's Stuttgart Ballet and remained in Germany for the remainder of her career. ''The Danny Kaye Show'' was an American variety show, hosted by the stage and screen star Danny Kaye, which aired on Wednesday nights from September 25, 1963, to June 7, 1967, on the CBS television network. Directed by Robert Scheerer, it premiered in black-and-white. It switched to color broadcasts in the fall of 1965. At the time, Kaye was at the height of his popularity. Radio City Music Hall is an entertainment venue and Theater (structure), theater at 1260 Sixth Avenue (Manhattan), Avenue of the Americas, within Rockefeller Center, in the Midtown Manhattan neighborhood of New York City. John Cranko
John Cyril Cranko (15 August 1927 – 26 June 1973) was a South African ballet dancer and choreographer with the Royal Ballet and the Stuttgart Ballet. Life and career Early life Cranko was born in Rustenburg in the former province of Transvaal, Union of South Africa. As a child, he would put on puppet shows as a creative outlet. Cranko received his early ballet training in Cape Town under the leading South African ballet teacher and director, Dulcie Howes, of the University of Cape Town Ballet School. Youri Vámos
Youri Vámos was born in Budapest. He trained in ballet from a young age at the State Ballet School in Budapest. He was a soloist at the Hungarian State Opera and then later accepted a contract as a first soloist at the Bavarian State Opera. After his career as a dancer Vámos began to focus on choreography and teaching. He served as ballet director in Dortmund, Bonn, and Basel. His choreography focuses on full length ballets that he revises for modern audiences. For such he has been called “the last ballet narrator” by Petr Zuska, the Artistic Director of the National Theatre Ballet in Prague. He has used traditional stories like Sleeping Beauty and the Nutcracker as the basis for modern ballets. The Deutsche Oper am Rhein (German Opera on the Rhine) is an opera company based in Düsseldorf and Duisburg. The opera also has an associated classical ballet company. Axel Kober has been its Music Director since 2009. The resident orchestra, the Düsseldorfer Symphoniker, play both opera and symphonic repertoire. After the 1875 construction of what became the Düsseldorf ''Opernhaus'', a strong connection between the two cities’ opera houses existed from 1887 to 1920, and was not re-established until 1955 with the creation of the Deutsche Oper am Rhein.
