Joy Westmore
Joy Westmore (; 13 March 1932 – 5 November 2020) was an Australian actress on radio, stage and television, and in voice-over. She was best known to local and international television viewers for her long-running role in ''Prisoner'' as the friendly but highly ineffectual bespectacled officer Joyce Barry, appearing from the first season in 1979 until the final episode in 1986 and smaller roles in ''Neighbours'' in 1991 and 2003. Career Westmore had been an actress since 1950. She read commercials on radio and was particularly known for her performances opposite Barry Humphries's alter ego Dame Edna Everage. She also appeared in early television comedy sketches with Graham Kennedy and Ernie Sigley. She made her small-screen debut in the TV movie ''The Sentimental Bloke'', and subsequently had roles in the soap ''The Sullivans'' and in '' Bellbird'', before taking on the longer-lasting role of Officer Joyce Barry in ''Prisoner''. The Graham Kennedy Show
''The Graham Kennedy Show'' was an Australian talk show which debuted on 19 September 1972 on the Nine Network. On 23 December 1969, host Graham Kennedy quit as host of ''In Melbourne Tonight'' due to exhaustion and rested for two years. In spite of his fame and fortune, he later described that period as "years of misery". After specials on 15 November 1971 and 2 March 1972, he returned with this series. Kennedy sparked controversy after a "crow-call", which sounded like the word "fuck", was broadcast in March 1975 (see below). Forced to prerecord from that point on, he abruptly departed following GTV-9's censorship of the 16 April 1975 edition. ''The Teenage Show'', also known as ''The Teenage Hour'', is an Australian music television series which aired on Saturdays from 25 October 1958 to 1960 on Melbourne station HSV-7. Background The live series was a successor to ''Teenage Mailbag'', and episodes ran for about an hour (though per TV listings, some episodes aired in a 55-minute time-slot). It is based on the book of the same title by William Nagel, and follows the experiences of Australian soldiers during the Vietnam War.
