Joy Henrietta Mensa-Bonsu
Henrietta Joy Abena Nyarko Mensa-Bonsu, (born 29 October 1957) is a Supreme Court Judge of the Republic of Ghana. She was nominated by president Nana-Akufo-Addo. She is the 5th female member of the Court. Prior to her appointment to the Supreme Court, she was a Ghanaian law professor who served as a member of the United Nations Independent Panel On Peace Operations. Early life and education Mensa-Bonsu was born on 29 October 1957 in Kumasi. She attended Wesley Girls High School for both her ordinary level certificate and advanced level certificate obtained in 1975 and 1977 respectively. She continued at University of Ghana where she graduated with Bachelor of Laws (LLB) in 1980 and studied at the Ghana School of Law from 1980 to 1982. She was called to the Ghana bar in 1982. Africanews is a French multilingual news network, formerly headquartered in Pointe-Noire, Republic of the Congo. Budget concerns caused by the coronavirus forced the channel to permanently shift operations to a small newsroom at the headquarters of sister channel Euronews in Lyon, France. List Of Judges Of The Supreme Court Of Ghana
This is a list of the judges of the Supreme Court of Ghana. The Constitution of Ghana provides for the court to be made up of the Chief Justice of Ghana and not less than nine other Justices of the Supreme Court. It shall be duly constituted by at least five Supreme Court judges. Appointment of judges Article 144 clause 1 of the 1992 Constitution of Ghana stipulates that the Chief Justice of Ghana is to be appointed by the President of Ghana acting in consultation with the Council of State and with the approval of the Parliament of Ghana. Emmanuel Yonny Kulendi is a Ghanaian judge. He is an active Justice of the Supreme Court of Ghana. He was nominated and appointed a Supreme Court judge in 2020. Early life and education Kulendi was born on 29 November 1963. He hails from Issa, a village in the Upper West Region of Ghana. His father was a World War II veteran and his mother brewed and sold Pito (beer), Pito in Wa Zongo. He is the fourth of seven children of his mother. He had his early education at Ndama Primary School before proceeding to Wa Senior High Technical School, Wa Secondary School (now Wa Senior High Technical School). During his fifth year in secondary school, he spent almost two years in the Wa prisons on remand, and this incident made him resolve all the more to be a lawyer.
